Exes Need To Stay Gone: Is It Possible To Get That "Old Thing Back

    in Relationships

An ex-boyfriend, contacted me via social media the other day. He was giving the small talk vibe. He then went into this whole speech, "I miss you, Lisa." "Remember that time?" and on and on. I was polite during the chat. But my only thought was fuck off.

What are the best ways to handle this situation? Listen to me talk through it.

When the City Sleeps #NocturnalInk Presents: Preech the Profit

    in Poetry

On this Episode of When the City Sleeps #NocturnalInk I will have the pleasure of sharing the mic with a most talented brutha, Preech the Profit!!

Born in Pensacola, Florida, now residing in Atlanta, GA, Preech The Profit or Preech for short, first introduced himself as a Spoken Word Artist in his hometown of Pensacola in the year 2011. The Preech part of “Preech The Profit” came after he had taken the time to analyze his performance methods & noticed that he almost sounded like a preacher reciting a speech. “The Profit” came from his desire to give back to communities & be a “profit to society” in addition to a pun with the word “Prophet” as a result of his tendencies to philosophize his own perspectives & idealistic nature. Spoken Word artist, Hip-Hop Artist, & entrepreneur, Preech The Profit, first gained an interest in words in elementary school when he would read the dictionary as if it were a book. As his knowledge for the meanings and sounds of words grew, he later reached a stage in middle school where he found the creativity in word play to be very interesting.

This new found interest led him to the exploration of his abilities to arrange words in ways that fit together as if they were a finished puzzle. During this time, he continued to write lyrics without a purpose other than to explore his imagination. Preech began to take on poetry as a way of life after working on the verses for a song & feeling as if the lyrics needed no instrumental to be appealing, because the lyrics alone carried the fluent tune of a professional song. It was at this time that he really began to notice just how talented of a writer he was. This realization brought him to an interest of exploring his talents in spoken word. He began to make YouTube videos & advertise them on social networking sites. This led to him being offered the opportunity to perform at a fashion show. Ever since then, Preech has performed & featured at over 50 different venues and locations.

S08/E03: "T'was The Night BEFORE Super Bowl 50"

    in Politics Progressive

The One Before Super Bowl 50

A lot happening politically, as Democrats had another great debate, as we approach the 2016 New Hampshire Primary.

Can Republicans put their collective shit together or continue to make absolute fools of themselves?

Did Marco Rubio plagerize Barack Obama's Speech?

Is it the swan song for The Donald?

Jeb Bush had his mommy stumping for him. Is he politically dead at this point and can he fight back to win the 2016 GOP nomination?

If it turns out to be a brokered GOP Convention, can a guy like Governor John Kasich galvanize Republicans? Who else will drop out after the New Hampshire Primary?

Who won the Democratic Debate: Hillary or Bernie?

Who do you want to see win the Super Bowl and Why?

These and many other questions to be answered as we roll along. Sit back, relax and fire up yourself for 2 hours of politics, football as well as political winners and losers across America.

Carl Siciliano of The Ali Forney Center

    in LGBT

Carl Siciliano, founder and executive director of The Ali Forney Center, talks to Randy about the current #HarlemNoHate Campaign which aims to raise funds to help the Center purchase a church in Harlem to expand it's services for homeless LGBT youth.

The poetic irony is that the pastor of the church, Rev. James Manning, has spent years spewing vitriolic hate speech towards the LGBT community in Harlem.

Pastor Manning is notorious for signage at the church with messages such as “Jesus would stone homos” and that all supporters of LGBT people should be cursed with cancer, HIV, madness, and eternal damnation.

"The biggest reason our youths are driven from their homes is because of homophobic and transphobic religious beliefs of their parents. If we are able to obtain the space it would truly be a triumph of love over hatred," says Siciliano.

The church is being put up for auction due to unpaid bills and tax liens on February 24th. The goal of the #HarlemNoHate campaign is to purchase the church and make what was once a place that put religious-based hate on broad display, and turn it into a safe haven for young LGBT.

The Ali Forney Center is the largest and most comprehensive organization in the nation dedicated to housing LGBT youth. AFC serves youth aged 16-24, and provides emergency and transitional housing, street outreach, a drop-in center, medical and mental health treatment, a vocational/educational program, and a counseling project for the families of LGBT youth.

Listen as we talk about the difficulties homeless LGBT youth face and how you can help.

    in Parents

Join pediatric speech-language pathologist Laura Mize, M.S., CCC-SLP as she provides a list of the next 6 skills toddlers acquire before they begin to use words to talk. This list may also be a launching point for a conversation with your child's therapist. If you've all been hyperfocused helping a child learn to say new words with no regard for the all of the things that must come first, you may not be addressing the root cause of your child's delay. Again, listen to the show if you'd like more information!

    Rise Of The Phoenix

    in Current Events

This is "Justice" and most of you know me as Lyra, Chris's co host, and tonight I am changing the show's tune up a bit since we seem to have all eyes on us for expressing our first amendment right of FREEDOM OF SPEECH. It's fine, we don't mind that at all, it simply shows you are listening and maybe others should realize there's much to be heard. Our host Christopher Bruce is locked up again and to prevent me and our fans from MORE wrongful arrests I'm stepping to the plate with amended terms. We will continue to air facts, exposure, corruption and real world information but we clearly must modify our stance as to protect ourselves from more ill fated treatment and attempts at harming us for using our Constitutional rights. That's right folks, the show must go on and as a law abiding citizen, I don't think I should fear airing a show with guests who've done nothing but expect their constitutional rights to be respected as well. See you at 10:00 cst as long as there are no more technological hiccups and if so it'll be 10:00 cst. wink emoticon Make sure to check out the Eracizm Campaign and help spread the word on eliminating the division of unity. It's not about labels, it's about standing united so we no longer fall. 2nd Generation Outlawz have many surprises in store for a united future! There's no HATE in that, just love of humanity and expression through music.  Please feel free to call in as a guest speaker at 347-324-5146 if you want to chime in  press 1.   See you tonight at 10;00cst
