Lavinia and Boughetto are back! Realizing that 45 minutes just isn't enough time for a great show, the ladies are trying out new ways to record the podcast.
This episode begins with an in depth discussion about the situation in Nigeria involving the kidnapping of nearly 300 girls. Did Boko Haram pull this off alone? The U.S. is involved but how much? Western Imperialism, government corruption, and the socio-economic divide -- are they all equally responsible for the kidnappings as well as the terrible conditions many Nigerians face?
Next, Solange Knowles is kickin' ass and takin' names. Did Bey's little sister have a mental break, drunken rage, or did Jay Z have that tiger pounce coming?
Followed by NFL Draft Shade. They had Johny Football sweatin' bullets. Which was harder to watch, Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend or that extended ugly cry when he found out the Rams wanted him?
And Finally, Are Mimi and Nikko of LHH Atlanta the new Bobby and Whitney? They're acting out of order.

Late night discussion with the Nerdy Black Chicks about what's going on today. Today we took a moment to remember 9/11. We had to touch on the ew developments about Syria since the last show, And finally George Zimmerman's latest foolishness.

Join the Nerdy Black Chicks to night as we discuss
The DC Navy Yard Shooting
Monday morning, Former Navy Reservist Aaron Alexis shot and killed 12 people, and injured others. He was later killed in a gun battle with police. Investigators are still trying to determine why he did this, and how he was able to obtain clearance and access to the yard. His parents say that he suffered PTSD after participating in rescue efforts after the 9/11 attacks. Reports are that he had sought out help from the VA, possibly for his mental health conditions. Aaron had past run ins with the law, concerning possession and use of weapons. Despite all this, those who knew him say that he was generally a nice guy. In fact he mediated regularly using Bhudist principles. How did this all come to be?
Bill Cosby's interview with Don Lemon
Don Lemon sat down with Bill Cosby to discuss his favorite topic: the sad state of the black community. Bill Cosby offers words of advice to whom he calls "No-groes" for how to improve themselves and their prospects. The truth hurts. Is Bill only saying what needs to be heard? Or does he need to find a new way to get his message across?
This is the 2nd episode of the Nerdy Black Chicks Talk Radio show. We started with two inspiring topics and the the show went left. Today marked the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. We acknowledge Antoinette Tuff, bookkeeper at a Georgia elementary school who heroically talked down a gunman without any injuries. And finally we went there: Twerkin'. The focus not so much on a particular somone who did her brand of it at the VMA's but we talked about the ABC news report, Black Twitter reaction to the report, and the new Oxford dictionary entry.
Tonight, the Nerdy Black Chicks will try to cover two very big topics.
The Government Shut Down:
The House of Representatives and the Senate are at a stand still over the continueing resolution that would fund the government and get it up and operating. But instead of just paying the bill, the HOR wants to have it out over the Affordable Care Act...again. This time using the the financial livelihoods of many Americans as a bargaining chip. Who's to blame for this latest clusterfunk?
Bikers vs That Guy Who Plowed Through Them in an SUV:
Two bikers were arrested in connection with the assault and battery of a driver of an SUV in NY (along with a list of other charges). Apparently, a large group of bikers took on the SUV (occupied by the driver, his wife and 2 year old child) by break checking him. After tapping the back of one of the bikers, a few of them surround his car, hit it and slashed the tires (CNN). At that point the driver took off, running over three bikers. Later the group caught up to his vehicle, smashed the windows, and beat the driver. Who is at fault for this ratchetness?
Hopefully we'll have time to cover lighter subjects, but you never know. Stay tuned to find out if we do a follow up "After Show" Show.
Late night discussion about what's going on today. Tonight's Topics: The not-so Big Deal: Did the GOP get their tantrum's worth?
Sentence OverKilpatrick?: Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick sentenced to 28 years for white collar crimes. Excessive or Justice?
Black (hair) Like Me: An African American photographer gives white female baby boomers a ghettofabulous hair makeover as part of her "Can I Touch It" project. Touch my hair? I don't think so. Get yo' hands out my locs!
There's so much to talk about, so stay tuned we just might go into over time with an After Show show beginning at 12am EST.
Our lead topic is the shooting death of Miriam Carey. It seems like the more information that is released, the more information that is being withheld. Once again a topic on which Boughetto and I don't share the same opinion. Was the fatal shooting of Mariam Carey justified?Other topics we'd like to cover:9 year sneaks on to plane and flies to Las VegasThe government is still shut downTrayvon Martin Day at a Pittsburg High School Brazil teachers are mad as hell & showing outAnd if we go into over time, join us at 12am EST for our Ratchet News coverage:Vivica Fox is turning in her Cougar CardNew reality show Preachers of LAMTV's Catfish: He ain't Bow Wow...or a heNBCI tells black folks, Leave Tavis & Cornell aloneFrom Drive Thru to Keep on Driving, McD's customer takes cops on a high speed chase.
