Criminal background checks on real estate clients and the Fair Housing Laws
With the recent murder of Arkansas Real Estate agent Beverly Carter, broker safety is in the forefront of the news.
Should real estate brokers and thier frims run cirminal background checks on unknown persons who claim an interest in buying real estate?
Does the law permit this?
Can you refuse to show a property if the potential purcahser of the property has a felony or misdemeanor in their background (such as passing bad checks, violent crimes, murder, domestic violence, crimes against women, assault, battery, fraud or forgery)?
There are important questions.
If you are wrongfully discirminating in refusing to show properties to potential buyers of real estate, do you run the risk of getting sued merely because you were trying to protect your own safety?
Listen in as Attorney Steve, the real estate lawyer, discusses this important real estate law topic.
This show is general legal information only.

During slavery, and from the 1800's through the 1980's, the concept of family was tight knit, strongly woven, and the envy of most cultures. The African American family unit survived in spite of unimaginable cruelty and adversity. In the last thirty years, that the African American family became dysfunctional and lost its direction
What has happened to the Black community in America? How did we go from singing We Shall Overcome to singing Superman That Ho? When did our priorities change from fighting for the right to vote to not voting at all because, “One vote doesn’t matter?” How did a people who came from such strong and courageous roots become commercialized and oblivious to their current state of being? In 2008 the Black community is still enslaved and we do not even recognize it. The children of our community are increasingly having babies, killing one another, and dropping out of school. In Chicago alone by April 7, 2008 twenty-three CPS students had been murdered and that number continues to rise. However, it seems as though only a hand full of people are actually concerned with our race’s future.
Our Community as a whole is becoming more divided, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and unconcerned with each passing year. Our children are becoming more uneducated, angry, and unmotivated, but we feel that it is more important to discuss the fact that Nas came out with a CD entitled Nigger than exchange ideas as to the fact that our young men are dropping out of school and ending up in prison before they are even twenty-one. We can argue all day about how disrespectful it is for “good” Black men to date outside their race, but we cannot initiate new innovative programs to keep our youth off the street and out of gangs. We can complain hours on end about how “The White man” is keeping us down, but on Election Day we cannot find enough strength within us to go to the polls and vote

The National African American Forum was formed to address the concerns of the New Jim Crow ” Mass Incarceration in the Age of Color Blindness
According to Michelle Alexander, New York Times Best Seller, and winner of the NAACP image award, states that the war on drugs during the Reagan Administration set into motion blatant discrimination within the caste system in the criminal justice system, education, economic development, housing, health, and the political process. According to Alexander individuals that was classified as a convicted felon after release could not receive public assistance in health, housing, and education, furthermore those individuals could not apply for loans to start a business, and did not have the right to vote.
A vast majority of those individuals were African Americans. Through new Jim Crow African Americans have been left behind in all institutions of life.
The National African American Forum is setting out to undo the wrongs of the New Jim Crow.

Tonight we discuss the case surrounding the death of Joan Rivers. There are many issues surrounding this tragic case, including the civil and criminal liability that the doctors that treated Ms. Rivers could face. Were the doctors negligent in their treatment of the famous comedienne? Was consent given for the "selfie" that the doctor took while Ms. Rivers was unconscious? If no consent was given, does that make the doctor "egregiously" negligent, thereby raising their liability from civil to criminal? Tune in and hear the hosts discuss the specifics about Ms. Rivers' death.
SIN predates man and originates in Lucifer, aka, Satan, wanting to ascend into Heaven and sit on the Throne of God ruling all creation. The first sin was pride, which is the root of every other sin. The first human beings to commit a sin were Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, when they chose to follow the suggestion of Satan, in the form of a serpent, instead of being led by the holy and righteous word of God. Sin has continued throughout the ages, from one son of Adam and Eve, Cain, murdering their other son, his brother, Abel. to every murder, robbery, war, lie, abortion, act of hatred, envy, jealousy, blasphemy, abuse, sexual deviance, defiance to parents, neglect of innocent and unprotected children, to genocide, and so much more, which sadly, will be reported today, Monday, September 29, 2014.
Watch your 10 or 11:00 news this evening, for an update on all the tragic and gory details.
Sin, according to the Word of God, the Bible, will continue on this planet, called earth, even getting worse, in time, until that Day that Satan is thrown into the Lake of Fire, along with the anti-christ, and every wicked person that ever lived; and Christ finally reigns in His perfect, holy and eternal new heaven and new earth.
We intend, on this broadcast, to look into sin, to see all that it entails, it's impact and its consequences.
Psychic mediums come with a variety of talents. I am an authentic spiritual medium-psychic-intuitive. Unlike some clairvoyants (seeing), I am also clairaudiant (hearing) and can sense touch, taste and smell. I am an excellent resource for you and your loved ones.
I began connecting on a spiritual level when I was around three years old. When I was small I would lay in the grass for hours, amazed at the beautiful lights that danced around the trees. I just thought everyone could see them.
My life experiences are a collective of reIigious and spiritual knowledge. My spiritual awakening is a confirmation of all reIigious teachings and the divine energy they speak of. You see they are one and the same.
I easily connect with souls and relay information, sometimes vital, to those left behind. My prophetess gift has proven instrumental in criminal investigations.
I have yet to be surprised by the creative ways of which, or to what lengths, some souls will go to get their messages through. Sometimes during this process I see how they want me to see them and feel their personalities. We have conversations and I ask them questions. It is very exciting, gratifying, and amazing all at once.
I can also help souls that do not know their way, 'go to the light'. It is a beautiful awe inspiring experience. It is my mission to facilitate bringing spiritual enlightenment and love to those around me and share the wonder of clairvoyant psychic mediums with the rest of the world.
