Real Fans Real Talk is a sports talk show that debates sports in an unorthadox way with entertaining charachters that provide their own unique comical touch. Most of the hosts are natives of Brooklyn, NY. We cover all teams and all sports on the professional, college, and other levels. In this episode we go over NCAA March Madness, this week in the NBA, The Jets releasing Sanchez and picking up Vick, and more.
Big NCAA March Madness preview!
Where did Wisconsin end up? Will Sam Dekker, Ben Brust, and Frank "The Tank" Kaminsky end up playing the first round of games in Milwaukee? Where do the Milwaukee Panthers, fresh off their stunning Horizon League tournament championship, play, and who?
We'll break down the brackets!
We also welcome former Wisconsin Badgers standouts James White and Jacob Pedersen on to the show in separate segments to talk about their preparation for the NFL Draft and their professional careers ahead. What was the oddest question they had to answer during the NFL Scouting Combine? Where have they been training? Is it weird to be called "former Badgers"? Great segments from the two former Badgers.
It is finally time. March Madness has begun and it is only about to get crazier. The brackets were revealed on Sunday evening and there were some teams that made the cut, and others that will have to play in the NIT. The four number one seeds are Florida, Arizona, Wichita State, and Virginia. Virginia snagged the final one seed as they took down Duke in the ACC Championship, and Michigan slipped in the Big10 Championship.
Brian and Joe will preview every game, give you there sleeper picks, and predict their final four. Will Joe be like Stuart Scott and be a homor by picking the North Carolina Tar Heels to win it all? Make sure you call in and give us your predictions and cindarella teams starting at 9pm EST. The number to dial in on is (347) 934-0157.
There are no definites when it comes to March Madness. With two talented teams and just one game to determine which school advances, hours of analysis can fall by the wayside because one team was on the right end of a couple of lucky breaks.
But now we are down the the Final Four schools in this years NCAA basketball tournament. Many experts voted on who had the best chance to win it all this year here were those experts odds -Team Odds Florida 5/1 Michigan State 11/2 Arizona 8/1 Louisville 8/1 Kansas 10/1 Wichita State 15/1 Syracuse 18/1 Duke 18/1 Virginia 18/1 Wisconsin 20/1 Michigan 30/1 Creighton 35/1 Villanova 35/1 Iowa State 40/1 UCLA 45/1 North Carolina 50/1 Kentucky 50/1 Oklahoma State 60/1 San Diego State 65/1 Ohio State 65/1 Oklahoma 75/1 Baylor 75/1 UConn 80/1 VCU 90/1 Cincinnati 90/1 Pittsburgh 95/1 Oregon 100/1 Tennessee 115/1 New Mexico 115/1 UMass 125/1 Iowa 125/1 Memphis 125/1 Gonzaga 125/1 Texas 125/1 Saint Louis 125/1 Providence 225/1 Stanford 225/1 Kansas State 300/1 St Joseph's 350/1 Nebraska 450/1 Dayton 500/1 BYU 500/1 Colorado 500/1 Xavier 500/1 Arizona State 500/1 George Washington 500/1 N.C. So now that we have reached the final 4 we will discuss who made it. Did the experts get it right or did an underdog make them all look bad. Join Host Joe Lisi (former ABC Sports college football researcher) as he speaks with former UW and NFL S Tony Parrish.
Parrish was a standout safety for the University of Washington and was a lethal hitter in one of the best secondaries in the NCAA. Parrish was a dominating safety who loved to come up in run support and dominate opposing ball carriers. He was excellent in pass coverage as well and took great angles in cutting down the field against opposing quarterbacks. He was the team captain of the 1997 team and became a 2nd round draft pick in the 1998 NFL Draft (35th overall) by the Chicago Bears.
Parrish had an outstanding career in the NFL and had 634 total tackles with 5 sacks and 30 interceptions.
Parrish was a workout warrior who was the strongest safety in the league during his tenure. Parrish was a complete safety and able to force opposing offenses to change their game plan because of his attacking style of play.
Parrish played for the Bears (1998-2001), 49'ers (2002-2006) and the Cowboys (2006). He recently played in the Legends of Candlestick Park event on Jul 12th and returned an interception from Dan Marino for a touchdown.
