Phillip Dana is a US Navy veteran. He attended the United States Naval Academy. He is an expert senior talent acquistion officer. He will share his experiences and wisdom with us. We will begin with his military service, then move to his transtion experience. Recently, Phillip has led the HR team for a major, global corporation. Let's find out what he knows about getting hired too.
Phillip's last company merged with another in that industry. The larger company's VP of HR made Phillip's position redundant. So we can also hear how he is approaching his new job search and learn from his personal experience.
I have met with Phillip Dana. His family is legendary in Southern California. Phillip's ancestral relative is Richard Henry Dana, the author who sailed past Dana Point, CA in the mid 1880s, and for which that place is named. Richard Dana wrote about it in his best selling book that told the tale of that journey, "Two Years Before the Mast." .
Phillip Dana is an extraordinary man. He is also all Navy. When we met, the Army v. Navy football game was about to air. He was pumped. His intelligence and passion is evident from the first minute of being introduced. He is friendly, professional, and has a sincere concern for his fellow US veterans.

The role of the Navy and Marine Corps should be to provide ready and capable forces to the joint commanders. Outside of that, what is the proper role of the sea services in designing a more national strategy?
What is the state of a national and a maritime strategy, who are the different players in the discussion, and what is the proper way forward?
Our guest to discuss this and more for the full hour will be Captain Robert C. "Barney" Rubel USN, (Ret.), Professor Emeritus, US Naval War College.
Captain Rubel, now retired, was previously the Dean of the Center for Naval Warfare Studies at the US Naval War College from 2006 to 2014. Prior to arriving at NWC, he was a thirty-year Navy veteran, with experience as e a light attack naval aviator, flying the A-7 Corsair II and later the F/A-18 Hornet, commanded VFA-131, and also served as the Inspector General at U.S. Southern Command.
He is a graduate of the Spanish Naval War College in Madrid and the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, RI., and has an undergraduate degree in liberal arts from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the US Naval War College.
Captain Rubel continues to serve as a member of the CNO Advisory Board and is active in local American Legion activities.
In this broadcast I will tackle how the Veterans Administration screwed up job caused thousands of disabled veterans to miss out on va benefits for years. One group Government Accountability Office found in a 2008 report that many veterans were misdiagnosed for personality disorders due to a failure by doctors to follow required diagnostic procedures and guidelines. My Current VA Psychatrist Dr. Morales who has seen me for over 2 years even states that I should have been diaganosed with PTSD on the date of discharge. But Dr. Ballad who is in charge of all VA Psychatrist around Tampa Bay at VISIN 8 located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Ballad says that whatever my current VA Psychatrist says does not mean nothing. I like to hear your comments about PTSD and Personality Disorder and Bill HR 975 The Mental Health Review act which has been sitting in the Sub Committee for over 2 years.
This was from todays Radio Broadcast on WWPR AM 1490 in Bradenton, FL 02 24 15. In this show we discuss VISIN 8 VA Sunshine Health Care Network visn8.va.gov. I discuss the great time I had at HSN The Home Shopping Channel on Monday 2/23/15 . I have two audio clips from VA Secretay Robert A. McDonald. One is where he gets in a argument with a Republican Congressman Mike Coffman. The second piece with VA Secretary Robert A. McDonald is the latest AP Story. I play a few songs and still remind you that Disabled Veterans were misdiagnosed with a personality disorder. This made thousands of Disabled Veterans miss out on VA Benefits for years. When the correct diagnoses should have been PTSD like my VA Psychatrist told me but is afraid to speak up because she will be fired by the VA. I am also requesting if you can help keep Disabled Veteran Radio on The Air log into http://billapgar.com
