Karen Scott is a chemist turned skin, hair, and body care specialist. She was encourgaged by her passion for science and a desire to reconnect with her own health. Vangaleen’s Natural Potions are free of chemicals and toxins. Inspired by Mother Earth, moved by the legacy of two strong women, Daisy Mae and Vangaleen, this line of products incorporates food grade raw exotic butters, oils, roots and herbs where every ingredient serves a purpose for the best in hair and skin care.
She is the grand daughter of Daisy Mae and Vangaleen (maternal and paternal). Both grandmother’s had Native American roots, born in the South and migrated North with their families in their youth. However, their southern soul, native traditions and skills were still as much a part of them as the blood that flowed through their bodies. Their traditions and wisdom for caring for their families was passed on to the children. Their spirituality and respect for the earth, what they consumed and what they put on their skin was a reflection of their beliefs.
Vangaleen’s Natural Potions is an independent hair and skin care brand packed with wholesome handmade goodness and it is our pleasure to share our Potions with you. Enjoy your Natural Beauty with Vangaleen’s; because ingredients matter.

We’ve invited Dr. Allen Lim and Jason Donald to share insights on how, what and when to hydrate, the importance of electrolyte and energy replacement and feeding strategies while training and racing. Jason was an elite professional cyclist who spent a few years as a member of the Garmin professional cycling team and Dr Lim also served as team physiologist for Garmin before founding SKRATCH LABS an innovative company that produces whole food performance electrolyte replacement and energy products for endurance athletes. Feeding, hydrating and electrolyte replacement is a critical aspect of performance and these two guys made their bones in international cycling competition where to survive, you have to get it right. No matter what level of competition, be it professional, recreational marathon running, obstacle racing, triathlon or cycling. This is a great episode to pay close attention to.
Host Kevin Hunter features guest John Leber from Swanson Bark and Wood Products, Inc in Longview, Washington. Swanson Bark and Wood Products is a woodwaste recycling facility.
Here are some thoughts from John:
My advice is to be patient. Don’t get too spun up over any one thing. Life will hand you things that will give you ulcers. How you deal with those things will determine the number of ulcers you end up with.
Have a plan. Figure out what you’re going to sell, who you’re going to sell it to, how you’re going to make it, how much you can sell it for and how much it’s going to cost you to make it. If it doesn’t look like it’s going to work, take a pass and try the next thing. If you keep a positive attitude, there will be a next thing, probably more next things than you can handle. Love life. Cleaning is a practice, it is a chore, it is an activity. Cleaning makes things better, healthier, more attractive. Cleaning is a metaphor for what our lives can become. It makes everything feel better when the space you enter is clean and orderly. Your body responds to being clean in a way that acts like a breath of fresh air. To take a shower or bath, or wash the face and brush the teeth is an act of love toward the body and it releases you to become fresh and new, refreshed and energetic.
Clearing energy from your field is the same thing. It is a practice, a chore and an activity but it is not as noticable to the outside world when you don't do it on a regular basis. When you don't clean your bathtub, over time, you'll notice it becoming dingy and you will not enjoy using the tub as much as when it is clean and smooth, cleared of all the accumulated things that wash away from our bodies when we bathe. The energy body can become dirty, too.
This week on Talk-N-Angels, Rita and Mike will be talking about cleaning - as a necessary part of living - and clearing - as a step toward creating space and ferreting out unwanted energies. Please join us for this conversation with your ideas about cleaning and clearing your home, your body, mind and your spirit.
