Johnny Strozier Keeping It Real 05/02/2015

    in Politics Progressive

Johnny Strozier was a Georgia prisoner for 46 years (from 1968 to 2013) and served about 15 of those years in solitary confinement. He was initially arrested at age 6, when he and friends burglarized an Atlanta warehouse to steal cigarettes for family members and candy. He was imprisoned at age 10. His sentence was lengthened to 90 years after assaulting a prison guard. Strozier's warden told him he would never exit prison alive because he often escaped and was involved in gang activity, but Strozier changed. He became a Christian in the 1980s. Strozier became active in church, married, and gained his high school diploma while still incarcerated. He also became a certified cook and brick mason. Since prison release, Strozier works, counsels youths, and faithfully attends church. Strozier assembled a group of churches and individuals to give other released inmates subsistence assistance, encouragement, and spiritual brotherhood.

Strozier will share information about reentry opportunities, the importance of avoiding behavior that leads to incarceration, and he plans interviews with persons who can share valuable information that will improve lives of former inmates and at-risk youths. Phone Strozier at 678.516.4993.

Reviving the World With Spiritual Thinking

    in Spirituality

Most people of the world judge things by what they see. And, the reality of what they see is unseen. It is their Creator Who created the human being. Revive means to bring back to life, but it, the human soul, can only be revived or brought back to life by the giver of life, the Creator Who is Allah. You must seek Allah's help with sincerity, patience and perseverance if you are to come back to your natural way of life which is spiritual thinking and not worldly thinking. You can't accept the ways of the world and it's idealogy of life to survive your spiritual life. That is how you lost your spiritual life and is loosing your humanity. You must be in this world and not of this world to revive your spiritual thinking.

    Sunday on the Front Stoop

    in Energy

Why are so many people being killed around the world?

Think of that sad "terrorism" around our world.  Is such "terrorism" being provoked by our dependence on foreign oil and other natural resource under their ground ?  Dennis, Jeff, and Susan will discuss this interesting issue.

HREM, Human Renewable Energy Measurement.  All these years when America had free grade school and free high school, why has college been SO expensive?  When a student graduates high school the average age is 18.  That's the same age when he or she can become a military soldier.  If they could not afford that expensive college, they've been told to just go overseas for a few years and they will afford higher education.

The sad news is that some of these teenagers never returned home and died in the army or navy or air force.  Even some that were lucky enough to return home, committed suicide after leaving these wars.  When they return home, they are reminded of their loving religious upbringing.  They had been taught to "love thy neighbor" or "thou shalt not kill".  If they were told overseas to "go in that house and kill whoever you see" they now mourn for all those innocent men or women or children that they killed under military order.

Fortunately, President Obama is now recommending that college becomes as free to our students as was their grade school and high school.

As an example, Saudi Arabia is No. 6 on the list of dictatorships in our world.  They get most of their weapons from countries like ours and we get a low price for the oil from under their ground.  Instead of sending our boys and girls overseas to get that good price on their oil, why not switch to solar or wind power?  That could also put an end to Climate Change on our planet.
