    The Natural Mentoring Experience

    in Self Help

As a mentoring show I try to bring attention to what a great need there is for black people to share our experiences with each other, as being a perhaps, a first step or next step towards loving and caring about each other in an unprecedented manner.  For without love for each other, genuine love from the heart born of struggles and strifes, we flaunder terribly: very badly or unpleasantly. Although our intentions are honorable and heartfelt, does the white racism supremacist plan somehow filter in to disrupt our goals?  Maybe via our subconscious, so that our messages to each other are only half successful?  And the other half that is left is our multifaceted anger towards each other that lingers?  Have we not seen the video clips, sound bites of our people going at each other in a fashion that would make the white racist supremist proud of their handy work?  And in the end we are left with what we started with, their plan to divide and conquer, as we’ve seen them do through our history.  Shame on us for not being smarter, more intelligent when it comes to our communications with each other. No need to be concerned about infiltrators, right?  We can easily do the work for them!  All too often we do.  So, with that in mind, let us try harder to have a collective mentoring experience, check egos at the threshold or portal, place on the table what you WILL and see who partakes.  If you heard my theme song:  Brown Baby and listen the words, it will be our own brown and black babies slipping through the cracks of the adults inability to insightfully relate to each other,so the babies will drink from the plenty cup!  FYI, that cups is filled with more than just the materialism of a corrupt capitalistic society or world they/we live in...the ancestors are watching us, they know, we know, so lets do what we know, we can't lose that way, remember, what WE know!

Spiritual Aspects of Human Envy with Dr. Josh Gressel

    in Spirituality

The human emotion "envy" is largely considered a negative, undesirable behavior - one that we wish we didn't have to experience, yet we all do. It doesn't feel good to be envious. When we do have feelings of envy our natural inclination is to disguise them - we don't want others to see this "ugly" side of ourselves.

Today's special guest, Josh Gressel, Ph.D., author of the  book, Embracing Envy: Finding the Spiritual Treasure in Our Most Shameful Emotion proposes that while envy is the "Achilles heel" of our ego, it is also a door to our "personal underworld" that when opened can lead us to our personal riches.

In Dr. Gressel's career as a psychologist he has attempted to integrate spiritual and psychological truths. He researched the topic of envy using that integration, and wrote Embracing Envy based on his belief that we would not have been created to experience this emotion unless it served an important purpose. He believes that envy forces us to admit to ourselves that we are capable of more than what we presently are.

Today Dr. Gressel is here to share what he has learned about envy and to help us understand the upside of our own.

    in Self Help

Chagrin Falls, OH – When seeking to enhance your productivity at work, it’s natural to focus on skills you lack or need to improve. But according to a recent Gallup study into human behavior, you won’t gain any ground working on your weaknesses. Rather, you should be dedicated to maximizing your strengths.

Joan Nosal is a board-certified coach and the founder of T.R.I. Life Coaching where she helps her clients identify and explore their talents to develop their strengths and unleash their potential.

“The definition of a strength is a task you can complete to near perfect performance in a positive direction,” says Joan. “Developing your talents into strengths ensures your ability to work at near perfect performance every time.”

Joan helps her clients to uncover their talents through a unique assessment tool: Gallup StrengthsFinder.

Gallup StrengthsFinder outlines a person’s top five strengths from 34 unique talents. Joan says it’s important to know your strengths so you can further develop and refine them.

“How do you approach your life with power and edge? What are the resources you have to support yourself? What are your needs?” asks Joan. “We’re assessing how you think, feel and behave.”

As a Gallup Certified Strengths Performance Coach, Joan works with executives and leaders to learn about their strengths and enhance the application of their strengths.

“I don’t coach or train or present anything I haven’t lived. It’s authentic,” says Joan. “If I can influence people to live a life of satisfaction and positivity where they can be all they were created to be, that rocks my world.”
