After the conviction of the person who mudered "American Sniper" Chris Kyle, this episode will focus on the importance of Kyle in our history. In this episode Bob Kirkconnell, author of American Heart of Darkness, will discuss America's biggest and oldest problem of "Racism in America". If there ever has been an opportune time to abolish slavery, it was during and after the Revolutionary War. And yet it survived. Even after the Civil War, a horrific event that killed more Americans than any other war, what did survive was racism. Despite excellent legislation against racism, it morphed into what is today called "Jim Crow," a de facto form of slavery. America tried again in the '60s and '70s with the civil rights movement that resulted in legislation that struck down Jim Crow. The Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Voting Rights Act, and many others made Jim Crow a thing of the past, but this system was replaced again with what we have today which is "The Prison Industrial Complex." Will this ever end, and why won’t it go away?
This brings up some conclusions and also questions:
What is the Prison Industrial Complex and what effect does it have?
Why is legislation ineffective against racism?
Why cannot America leave its racist past behind?
What would replace the Prison Industrial Complex if it was legislated out of existence?
What needs to be done to solve this cancer that has been with America from the very start?

Could drug-resistant tuberculosis be the next great pandemic? Most people think of tuberculosis as being a long-gone disease, a throwback to the Colonial or Medieval Eras. Also known as “consumption”, tuberculosis is thought of as something modern medicine has eliminated. Not only is this factually incorrect, tuberculosis has joined the ranks of drug-resistant bacterial infections.
When antibiotics no longer kill a particular bacterial infection, the entire population is at risk of that infection in a much larger way than a handful of people who refuse vaccinations. Without effective antibiotics, there is no treatment.

Two amazing topics tonight, interspersed with our usual rundowns of New York hip hop music and culture.
One, well two, of our favorite guests will be joining us for the third straight year, as Lah Tere and Kathleen Adams call in to discuss this year's "Momma's Hip Hop Kitchen," a wonderful annual event that takes place at Hostos Community College in the Bronx. The one-day long event features a stunning lineup of women, performers, guest speakers, entrepreneurs and activists, all convening to shed light on important women's issues, as well as general issues, but from a female perspective.
Momma's Hip Hop Kitchen is an extremely family friendly, all-ages event, and is one of the best opportuinities to witness the positive power of the hip hop community, particularly when it comes to women and girls. We are proud to be official media sponsors of this event, and urge all who can, to attend.
We'll also discuss the whether or not "old school" hip hop is getting the proper "respect," around the country and in business. This issue was sparked by a Daily Beast article, proclaiming that Hip Hop's OGs were not getting their respect, from hip hop radio and media in particular.
Show host and journalist Manny Faces took excception to the portrayal, even thuogh the author had some valid points. Read Manny's rebuttal, and join us live to discuss the issue.
