So I am on multiple social media sites. Theeeeee most unapologetically Afrikan centered one is ABIBITUMIKASA.COM. So I am on there, conversing & reading forums & 1 sistah kept coming up w/ some of the most passionate, studied, heart-felt responses, over & over & over again...so, of course, I am like, "who is this sistah?"
Over the years I have cyber-followed/joined in her righteous endeavors, including the failed attempt at creating a nin site ONLY for Revolutionary Minded Afrikan Singles...we may talk about that.
She has now given her passion, energy, strength & heart into a school the
Katiopa Watoto Shule and have I mentioned she is unapologetically Afrikan in the hells of canada???
This will be a LIVELY & WELL NEEDED discussion. A few topics up for discussion will be the role of Afrikan Spirituality in our lives; The caucasoid socialization process Afrikan women go thru & HOW TO STOP IT!; Why she felt the need to open up her own Afrikan centered school; What challenges are there being a DELIBERATE Afrikan in a place like canada...and of course YOUR questions (760-454-1111)
PLEASE CALL IN WITH YOUR QUESTIONS AS WE INTERVIEW A DOWN AS* SISTAH, KENTAKE MALOPENZA!!

April 5-7th 2013 (gregorian calendar), I was finally given the opportunity to present at the MAGNIFICENT SANKOFA CONFERENCE.
This conference, which has been around for 23 years is theeeeeeeee most unapologetic & most uncompromisingly Afrikan centered in the u.s. and I have been in attendance for at least 10-11 of them.
I was placed on the NATIONBUILDING workshop track C with 2 other brilliant 'new jack' scholars:
Dr. Kwasi Konadu (author of numerous books, most recently THE AKAN DIASPORA IN THE NEW WORLD) his website is dafricapress.com
Dr. Kimathi Carr (who we interviewed here some months ago, so please check our archives) who is also the head of the Africana Studies department at Howard University.
The title of our workshop was TO BE AFRIKAN
Some of the questions we were asked to address were:
Can a norm be established for the cultural identity of afrika; one that identifies and describes the fundamental features of Afrikanity including its moral/ethical principles, its ontological/spiritual conceptions, its organizing and governing principles, its language structure...?
Sub themes: What internal (psycho-social, philosophical, political, moral....) factors were instrumental in the decline of the kmt civilization?
What external features (geography, climate, alien incursion, wars...) contributed to the decline of kemetic civilization?
What philosophical, moral, and governing features of kmt (Gikuyu, Ndi igbo, Shona, Kongo, Tallensi...) are apparent or replicated in traditional practice?
and 1 more
Tonight we will discuss a chapter out of a MAGNIFICENT, rarely heard of book that came out in the mid-90's, called REALITY REVOLUTION: RETURN TO THE WAY by Baba Kofi Addae.
Chapter 6 is entitled LET US MOVE ON where he introduces 2 concepts that we, today, are sorely in need of: Nkoso (short term planning) & Daakye abra bo (long term planning). Far from being a theoretical-only work, Baba Addae takes these Afrikan concepts & utilizes them for tangible, practical & visionary means. The vision he leaves us with at the end of the chapter MUST BE ACTUALIZED if we want our future generations to look upon us with reverence.
If we can get an idea of WHAT WE WANT OUR FUTURE TO LOOK LIKE, WE WILL THEN HAVE A BETTER IDEA OF HOW TO GET THERE, now since it has been taken from the purely ethereal and has been given some sense of ideational visibility.
For those who don't have it, double check w/ your BLACK OWNED BOOKSTORES to see if they can get you a copy. It was published in Baltimore, so bro. Nati @ EVERYONE'S PLACE may still be able to get some. Otherwise, IF YOU MUST amazon says they may have some copies
Since we are having our interview with 3 graduates of Real Afrikan Spiritual Systems, I felt it fitting to share some of the thought processes behind 2 of our 3 interviewees (I apologize to Oba Sekou, our 3rd graduate interviewee, I could not find anything in my archives of him.)
This was at the Sankofa Conference 2011 & the workshop was entitled:
Social Upheaval and Revolution OR Nationbuilding and ReAfrikanization
THIS PRESENTATION IS HEAVILY EDITED as to mainly focus on the parts added by Okomfo Kwao & Okomfo Afua. Towards the end, we include great wisdom added to the panel discussion by Mama Akua Akoto (co-author of The Sankofa Movement, ReAfrikanization & The Reality of War & co-facilitator of the Sankofa Conference) and at the very end, a question from lil ole me-Kamau.
This show should whet your intellectual pallet, getting you ready to create GREAT questions for Sunday's show.
Tonight we will talk about the smackdown on GGT Conservative Primetime when Warlord X and I crushed Sarge. Why do Black Conservatives feel it is their duty to be the White man's lap dog.Jesse Lee Peterson says Newt is right and the key to helping Black folks is to put them back on the plantation. You got it.Coons are for sale!!!!!Newt got a bargain with this Sambo.Tonight lets rant and debate and lose control in Kala Land.We will also set the record straight with Afirmative Action and who gets it.We will talk about nation building strategy and goals we have
above is the link to the document we shall be reading from.
We continue reading this masterwork The Sankofa Movement, ReAfrikanization & The Reality of War, by the Akoto family, which put together a list of over 100 key & crtitical items based on copious research, experiential knowledge, travels back & forth to traditional areas in the Continent and LIVING these items.
We here, have labelled it STANDARDS to BEING Afrikan. They label it Nyame Nyhe Hyee (en-yah-me en-shay-shay), or Nyame's Order. While they admit it is NOT to be seen as an exhaustive list, we @ Afrika's ReAscention would like to note that it is the most detailed & throuough gathering of those aspects of our culture that have stood the test of time & that must be duplicated today to move us forward toward eventual victory. There are also forward-thinking items in this great list as well
For everyone who asks, 'What does being Afrikan mean today?' get them listening to this show & to get the book.
After this show(s), no longer will some be able to willy-nilly attach 'Afrikan' to any old thing. No longer will we get away with behaving any old way & calling it 'Afrikan.'; we now have SOME standards to judge by, just as any and every culture has, actually.
BLACK UNITED FRONT RADIO
Afrikan Nationalists are working at a distinct disadvantage. Our numbers are relatively small in comparison to the religious sects, we will not get any play in the mainstream media, we are not well financed and are poorly organized. However, despite all this, there are some great things being done in the movement.
Still the missing element to get the movement to take root amongst the masses is a visible and documented modern success model. This is why most Afrikan Nationalist hang on to Marcus Garvey, the Black Panther Party and the Nation of Islam with Malcolm X. These were proven success models of the Afrikan Nationalists movement.
We can not act like the Afrikan Nationalism is as established as the church. We must behave like the church missionaries do in areas they invade. We must send as many of our available resources (money, time, people) into one area until we have established ourselves in that area. In other words, we must have an instituion (physical location) in the area with appeal to the masses.
The question is: Will Afrikan Nationalist bite the bullet and selflessly sacrifice their own personal agenda for the greater good? Are you willing to be an Afrikan Nationalist Missionary? What would an Afrikan Nationalist Mission look like?
This is what we will be talking about on tonight's show.
