Welcome to the first episode of the second season of the Fake Teams Fantasy Baseball Podcast! We've had some changes take place over the offseason so this season's shows will feature Zack and Ray most nights in addition to other members of the Fake Teams family and industry personalities. Our first show features a recap of the 2014's first month, the crop of AL young arms, two prospect call ups and reader questions. Wyomia Tyus (pronunciation: why-o-mia; is an Americanathlete, and the first person to retain the Olympic title in the 100 m. Tyus, from Tennessee State University, participated in the 1964 Summer Olympics at age 19. Edith McGuire-later known as Edith McGuire Duvall, is a former Americansprinter. Born in Atlanta, McGuire ran for Tennessee State University. TSU had a very successful women's sprinting team, The Tigerbelles, in the 1960s, including triple Olympic champions Wilma Rudolph, Wyomia Tyus, and McGuire. Although McGuire's running career was short, she won six AAU titles, in three different events. Her specialty, however, was the 200 m/220 y, in which she won four of her six national titles. In 1964, she was undeafeted in her favourite event, and went to Tokyo as the main contender for the 200 m gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics
Martha Watson-another of the distinguished line of Tennessee State University athletes. Martha dominated the American women's long jumping scene during much of her career. In 1964, just barely out of high school, she placed second in the long jump at the U.S. Olympic trials to qualify for the American team. She made three more Olympic teams (1968-72-76) as a long jumper.
Before the abolishment of slavery in the United States, freed and escaped slaves in the 1700s and 1800s headed north to Canada and established a city called Africville. Our show on July 23rd will be a special show and broadcast "live" from Halifax, Nova Scotia (Africville) as part of our education tour to the birth of Africville, Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia is considered the birthplace of modern ice hockey. On this tour, we will learn about the establishment of The Colored Hockey League by upstanding role models and an organizational talent never seen in Black sport.
We will interview various guests with ties to this rich history who will share with our listeners stories about the people how pioneered with a spirit that lives on. This broadcast will be in conjunction with the Africville Reunion, which is celebrated every July. They come to reminisce, to re-acquaint and re-establish themselves as a community. And we will celebrate with them!

Damon Mason, better recognized as Kwame is a producer/writer/director and has been working in the Canadian entertainment industry since 1996. He started out as the host of an entertainment magazine style show called PHAT TV that aired on CFMT (what's this?) channel 4. In 1999 Kwame was offered the opportunity to work for a newly started ROGERS MEDIA radio station in Toronto called KISS 92.5, and in 2001 Toronto’s first URBAN radio station FLOW 935 was set to launch, Kwame took this opportunity and became a weekend announcer and eventually went on to work for the morning show and became the Saturday night live-to-air announcer. Opportunity again knocked on his door when ROGERS MEDIA started up a new station in Calgary Alberta called KISS 969. Kwame traveled to a new market to further brand himself across Canada. In the stations first BBM report Kwame was the number one announcer in the stations demo of 18 to 34 male and female. A year later Kwame was asked to help launch a new TOP 40 radio station in Kitchener Ontario. With his experience launching stations, CHUM radio called on him again to help launch 917 in Edmonton where in the first year he co-hosted the funny and entertaining radio show SUMMER LOVING with ex NHL tuff guy GEORGES LARAQUE. Kwame is now the executive producer and director of a documentary called Soul On Ice about the birthplace of the Colored Hockey League and its upstanding role models, and organizational talent never seen in Black sport.
