“The United States has an undiminished ability to shape events and build alliances of free people,” he said. “We can project power and enforce peaceful stability in far-off areas of the globe he would increase the Pentagon budget, mentioning “shortfalls in our defense spending.” And he praised the aggressive surveillance efforts of the National Security Agency that began under his brother, calling the agency’s dragnet of data on Americans’ communications a “hugely important program.” Jeb

    JFK "Secrecy & National Traditions"

    in History

President John Kennedy's April 27, 1961 speech directed to the press. (5min19sec) Includes:

"We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive & unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweigh the dangers which are cited to justify it."

"...there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it."

"And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship & concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control."

"Government at all levels must meet its obligations to provide you with the fullest possible information, outside the narrowest limits of national security."

Dr. J.M. Peebles via Summer Bacon, Jan. 2015: "This is going to be a year of reviving the understanding of what freedom means...There's going to be a change in the organization called your United States Government...due to the people in the country here who are going to unite, stating very clearly, very loudly...to be free of the pressure, the encumbering pressure that has come by so much regulation..."

The Most Unrecognizable and Committed Sin is not what you think

    in Religion

What is the most unrecognizable and committed sin in the universe?  Read this article and see if you can figure it out.

Pasadena, CA- The mother of a former cashier at Target in Pasadena is suing the retailer, alleging that her son committed suicide after being humiliated by management.  In the lawsuit, Virginia Gentles claims her son, 22-year-old Graham Gentles, was driven to suicide after he was accused of stealing, handcuffed and "paraded" through the store in front of coworkers and customers.  Graham Gentles jumped to his death from the roof of the Courtyard Marriott in Monrovia on July 18, three days after he was allegedly required by Target management to take part in what the lawsuit calls a "walk of shame."  The lawsuit alleges false imprisonment, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.  According to the complaint, Graham Gentles was met by police and Target security personnel at the front of the store as he arrived for work on July 15. The suit alleges that police forcefully grabbed him, emptied his pockets and pulled his hat off. At the direction of two members of the store management, he was handcuffed and led to an office, according to the suit.  "Gentles was shocked, confused and mortified at being handcuffed and walked through the Target store in front of co-workers and store customers. Mr. Gentles had no idea why he was being arrested," the complaint says.

    CPAC 2015

    in Politics

Scott Walker hit all the right notes when he took the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday to address a standing-room-only crowd — even gamely handling a heckler.Walker was talking up Republicans’ push to pass a right-to-work law in Wisconsin, a measure to weaken labor unions, when a heckler stood up and began shouting in the packed ballroom. What he said wasn’t clear, but Walker handled it like a pro: He quipped, “Apparently the protesters come [here] from Wisconsin as well.”

Looking to shore up his own bona fides on foreign policy, Walker went out of his way to tell the audience that, as governor, he receives FBI briefings about potential threats to his state. And he pointed to his 2011 face-off with public-employee unions as preparing him for these sorts of situations.“If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world,” National Review

QARLive: Southern Charm W/ Angie & Katie: America: Stepping Up To The Challenge

    in Politics Conservative

With all the chaos surrounding us in the world today, America is looking for a leader who will step up to the challenge. The fragmented GOP needs to come together to put forth a candidate who will get our country back to the founding principles that our great nation was based on: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The world has run amuck with violent terrorists who seek the destruction of all they oppose. The whole world is looking for a leader to exterminate this threat and be a beacon of hope to all in these devastating events that have occurred.

Our guest tonight is a mother who also faces a challenge. Her autistic son is having surgery which will affect her son greatly as change and new experiences can cause great distress to someone who is on the autism spectrum. They are looking to move into a ground apartment before the surgery because the stairs in the current apartment will pose a real problem.

When will become a nation that realizes the every day challenges we face and step up to the plate? America, we need to recognize the value of every human life and the unique qualities that each person brings. Let us become that beacon of hope and step up to meet the challenges we face.
