Your Kind Voice- Preparing for Success

    in Lifestyle

Mónica Méndez, PhD, just began her tenure as the Executive Director of Dress for Success Pittsburgh after moving from Orlando, Florida, where she was the co-Founder and CEO of the House of Mentoring and Empowerment (HOME), an organization advocating for young survivors of human trafficking. Passionate about empowering women and bringing the topic of gendered violence to the public sphere, she brings twelve years of experience in program creation and implementation, training and advocacy to her new endeavor.  She has published and presented her work in both national and international forums and in front of a wide variety of audiences.

Dr. Méndez brings her experience, background and accomplishments to Dress for Success Pittsburgh to advance the economic empowerment of women. She recognizes that women who have job stability provide family stability which then translates to community stability. Her goal is to make Pittsburgh a stronger, healthier community by promoting the financial and social empowerment that women need in order to break the cycle of poverty.

The mission of Dress for Success Pittsburgh is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Founded in 2005, Dress for Success Pittsburgh was established to empower women to become self-sufficient and exit poverty, while also empowering women who suffered a temporary crisis and needed the short-term support to get back into the workplace. Our clients may be single parents, divorcees, low income, recovering from economic crisis, survivors of domestic abuse, veterans, re-entering homemakers, or previously incarcerated.

American Daily Review: The National Popular Vote Movement

    in Politics Conservative

Constitution Corner: Congress's one-time power of the purse strings; Biker gang bloodbath in Texas; All hail mob rule; "Homophoboes" to the furnaces; So much tyranny, so many shiny squirrels; Government healthcare - or else; La Clinton Nostra and House Bush, two wannabe American political dynasties going nowhere; Republican civil trade war?; It's 2015, not 2003, and Iran is not Iraq; Fear Islam, but be silent about it, and give in to Islam's demands (or "Dhimmism is the cure for Islamophobia"); and the rise of "democracy" is the fall of the Republic.

Ms Chavis is the organizer of a petition titled NATIONAL ACTION AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY! PROSECUTE POLICE WHO MURDER UNARMED INDIVIDUALS!

    https://www.change.org/p/national-action-against-police-brutality

INVESTIGATIONS "CASE BY CASE" HAVE NOT AND SHALL NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM! AS ONE IS BEING INVESTIGATED "HUNDREDS MORE" ARE MOUNTING UP! AND INDEED, POLICE BRUTALITY HAS ESCALATED TO THE LEVEL OF "NATIONAL PROPORTIONS".

THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS ARE BEING "STOPPED & FRISKED" FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER...

THE LOSS OF LIFE THAT HAS OCCURRED AT THE HANDS OF POLICE HAS ESCALATED TO WHERE "UNARMED INDIVIDUALS" ARE BEING "FIRED UPON" AND "KILLED"...

There is so much to expound on. If I had to keep to one topic tonight it would be torture. The thin blue line is up against it like never before. The latest has the government funding community organizers to coach the police. That sounds frightening. Our President is on a tirade of race and inequality like nothing we have seen in this country. All this has myself and many others I know out side of this podcast reevaluating things. I would highly recommend a reevaluation of your current situation and what it would look like if one of this riots rolled into your neighborhood.
