Episode 532: Christian/Political commentary on the news and current events!!!

    in Politics Conservative

Liberals and progressives are very good at framing an argument so it tugs at peoples heart strings. Case in point, Child poverty in America. Progressives rarely call it just good old fashioned poverty, where everyone in the family is affected, that would not pull at your heart strings and cause you to look for a central government solution. So they cherry pick stories with the narrative about child poverty and the stats that are associated with them. They never look and see if there are other studies and stories that contradict their narrative.

It's like a story I read in this months Spiritual Sword, about the man who would shoot at something then draw a bulls-eye around it. When you go into research anything with a preconceived outcome, that is exactly what your doing!!! You pick whatever topic is near and dear to a liberal/progressive's heart and more times then not they shoot first then draw a bulls-eye around it and call it settled fact!!!

Life Lessons celebrates National Small Business Week with Jim Salmon of Navy Fed

    in Entertainment

On today's Life Lessons show, discover why small businesses are so important to America?

    ·         How veterans can get help turning a hobby or passion into their own small business?

    ·         Where entrepreneurs can get the resources and information they need to start a business?

    ·         Who is eligible to take advantage of a Navy Federal Business Services membership?

We hear a lot about helping our brave veterans, but the sad fact is that despite an improving economy, many vets have difficulty finding employment after leaving the military. The  jobless rate among vets remains higher than the civilian population. That’s why, in celebration of National Small Business Week (May 1-7), the not-for-profit Navy Federal Credit Union is hoping to spread the word that entrepreneurship – if done right –  can be a rewarding career for military veterans.   To kick off National Small Business Week, we have a special interview with Jim Salmon, the head of Business Lending at Navy Federal Credit Union. A decorated veteran himself, Salmon will also discuss why it’s good business to support veteran-owned and operated businesses and how veterans have many of the skills necessary to run a successful business.

How Mantras Awaken the Spirit for Deep Cleansing

    in Spirituality

My guest this week on Catch Your Spirit is Melissa  Beasley of Love Essential Skin Care.  Melissa is a natural skincare formulator, business owner, and mother of two. She began formulating skincare products for her son’s sensitive skin issues. After receiving requests for products from friends and family she eventually expanded her product line and launched Love-Essential Skin Care.

Melissa uses her background in biochemistry and her love for natural health to create products that are highly effective, completely natural, and wonderfully luxurious.

Melissa’s mission is to change the way we approach skincare by encouraging an attitude of love and appreciation for the wonder of the human body.

Most recently, Melissa has been fascinated with learning the connections between the physical and spiritual bodies.  She has noticed that toxic thoughts affect not only our bodies but also our Spirit.

Our words and thoughts can have both a physical and spiritual affect on us. These two layers of the body are intertwined and dance together for our overall health.

By using a mantra,  a word or phrase that carries a positive meaning, the spirit empowers the body. Some of her mantras include "my worth is not tied to how clear my complexion is today", "the human body is an amazing miracle, my body is an amazing miracle and it is beautiful. I choose to see past the small flaws I don't like and recognize the wonder of beauty of who I am." "Love is always beautiful."
