Gone But Not Forgotten on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne

    in Music

On this segment of Brunch In The Basement with JaVonne, we take time to talk about and listen to some of the music of our legendary singers who have passed away. Some left us way too soon, Like Aaliyah, Minnie Riperton, Phyllis Hyman, Biggie, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Gerald Levert, Heavy D, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Tupac. What might they be giving us and feeding us today had they lived longer. And then those voices that I grew up on, Billie Holiday, Barry White,  Rick James, Teddy Pendergrass, McFadden and Whitehead, not to mention our recently fallen angels like Natalie Cole and Maurice White. This show will pay honor to as many as we can discuss in two hours. Please join us for this tribute and Brunch in the Basement with JaVonne.

    Rock Steady Tribue: Part 2

With great honor and joy we are glad to mention that due to the overwhelming response to the 1st Rock Steady Tribute where Poppa L's, CM Dubb and the Old School Flava Crew paid homage to the legendary group The Whispers. During the 1st edition of the Rock Steady Tribute we also celebrated the legacy of the late Mr. Nicholas Caldwell, Poppa L's thought it was only right to honor the special flava guest that took time out of their schedules to call in to share and reflect on their sacred memories with Mr. Nicholas Caldwell as well as The Whispers.

This Sunday at 4pm only on Poetic Designs Radio, Poppa L's, CM Dubb and the Old School Flava Sundays crew would be honored if you the listeners would join us again for Part 2 of the Rock Steady Tribute Celebrating not only the living legacy of The Whispers, Gladys Night & the Pips and the late Mr. Nicholas Caldwell, but some of our other legends like Natalie Cole, William Guest, Meadowlark Lemon and David Bowe.
