This Thriver show features Marie, a mother of 5 children, who endured a 7 years relationship with a narcissist.
We talk about how one of the biggest discoveries Marie made, is how co-dependent she was – and how she always had to fill her life with activities and people, and after escaping her relationship with the narcissist, how she couldn’t initially bear to be alone.
During our conversation Marie shares about how working on establishing her Identity has been key, and she shares her involvement with Co-Dep (Co-dependents Anonymous) and how fascinating her children are as “a mirror” to make her recovery not just about herself, but also about them.
You will also learn from this interview about Marie’s new partner, who is the father of her youngest two children, and how incredibly different the relationship is from her previous narcissistic one.

Tonight's special guest is Michael Broussard from Philadelphia, a child abuse survivor with a unique way to be of service and carry the message. NAASCA has committed to presenting his play, a one-man show "Ask a Sex Abuse Survivor," to a wider and ever-expanding audience through our web site and on our talk shows. The next presentation will be on Sunday, November 9 at 5:00pm at The Adrienne Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Michael says to his friends in the Philadelphia area, "My interactive stage show about childhood sexual abuse is happening again on Nov 9th. I tell my story of survival and healing and I invite audience members to comment, ask questions and tell their own stories during feedback breaks throughout the performance. The show has been praised by mental health professionals and survivors." During the play, which was first performed at the end of June, 2014, Michael told the story of a childhood lost to abuse — and rediscovered decades later. Throughout the performance, audience members were encouraged to share their own experiences, ask questions and offer up comments. The play provides a unique opportunity for an open, interactive dialogue on the effects and causes of abuse and, as such, NAASCA will be devoted to helping the play be presented elsewhere. We'll sponsor these events and list them on the NAASCA web site when they are scheduled, etc, too, as an ongoing project / service. We're delighted to count Michael among our NAASCA family members.

On Program #25, David begins a talk about "Magic is Dangerous". Hmmm...this should be an interesting topic.
This show is a little different then most shows on Lifestyles & Spirituality. What we talk about here isn't necessarily "spiritual". On "A Path Less Taken", we use the term very loosely. We talk Metaphysics, the Occult, Witchcraft,Magic, Spells, Esoteric books...ooooo, ever so spooky!
Anyway, if it is other "than"...then you are where you are supposed to be. At A Path Less Taken!
Join me Monday thru Friday at 8 AM Eastern for the LIVE broadcast! Listen via the Archive anytime.

This week Karen Franklin and her daughter Laren King authors' of “Addicted Like Me”, discuss their addiction and how Step 8 and 9 helped them to move past it.
Step Eight: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
Step Nine: Made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
What do these steps really mean and how can they help us to move into recovery and past our drug and alcohol addiction? These steps help us to truly begin the healing from our addiction, this week on Recovery Now!

It amazes me how many of us, I include myself because I was guilty of this for so long, think that it is ok to abuse our body when we don't even do that with our house and cars. This is a sad reality in today's society and this has to change in order for us to move towards a more healthier self. What do I mean when I say the word "abuse"? It does sound like a harsh word but it is exactly what we do and you can learn more about what I mean with this by listening to today's talk.
#142: Rachel Lawson, Head Coach, Kentucky, visits TCRS. The 2014/15 UK softball roster will be led by one of the nation's top pitchers Kelsey Nunley and arguably the nation's number one catcher Griffin Joiner. 2014 was a great year in Lexington as UK softball earned the program’s first-ever Women’s College World Series berth, defeated a school record 15 ranked teams during the season and finished the year ranked No. 6 in the final USA Today/NFCA national poll and Coach Lawson and her staff earned honors as the NFCA D-I Coaching Staff of the Year. Off the field, UK softball saw 12 student-athletes named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes while 18 earned SEC academic honors. Coach Lawson Twitter, UK Softball Twitter, UK Softball Facebook.
My guest is Debra Pyka, a mother who is trying to bring awareness to not only prevent suicide, but to warn of the dangers of sports and head trauma to our youth. She will be discussing her son Joseph's life story, playing sports, CTE which led to years of depression and ultimately, his suicide. Joseph's brother Seth will join us, since they played sports all through their childhood together. She has tried to contact politicians, White House and Michelle Obama, with no one concerned or responding to her. She also wants to shed light on the responsibility of the NFL with the research started 20 years ago, to warn all parents of the dangers of concussions/head trauma and future effects, which the NFL denied for many years. More young people are dying from sports related injuries than ever. www.sportslegacy.org/research/legacy-donors/joseph-chernach
