Tonight's special guest is Dr Patrick Gannon, a clinical psychologist in private practice in San Francisco. He has worked extensively with high risk children and adults who have been abused over the last thirty five years and lectures widely on a range of mental health issues. Dr Gannon says, "When I started working with child and adult survivors, I identified with many of their feelings although never to the extent that I felt traumatized by what I experienced in childhood. In a sense, I experienced just enough of the emotional abuse to want to do something about it." Based on his experiences in child abuse prevention, he wrote the book "Soul Survivors: A New Beginning For Adults Abused As Children" in 1989. In 1993, he became the Clinical Director of the Norma J. Morris Center for Healing From Child Abuse in San Francisco, where he was one of the founders of the Adult Survivors of Child Abuse self-help program (www.ASCAsupport.org). The 21 steps of recovery outlined in "Soul Survivors" provided the theoretical basis for the ASCA program of recovery. Dr Gannon co-authored the ASCA basic manual and guidebook, "Survivor to Thriver," which describes process of recommended tasks and issues that most adult survivors face during their recovery from child abuse. The second edition of "Soul Survivors" was published as an ebook only two months ago. The ebook contains significant revisions, additions, updated research as well as integrates the ASCA program into the three stage, 21 step program. The Morris Center is sharing in the profits from "Soul Survivors" set at a very low ebook price of $5.99 (Smashwords.com and Amazon.com) to make it affordable for survivors around the world.

Wearing a Blue Ribbon is the symbol of Child Abuse Awareness! Millions of abuse victims (men and women) hide the story of their experience well into adulthood. A huge number continue to suffer from pain, anger, fear, shame and embarrassment for decades. Most will agree their traumas have resulted in an inability to trust, make good decisions and have healthy relationships. But giving up the secret is often how recovery begins, one survivor talking to another. Join Bill Murray and his co-hosts, panelists and guests, many of them abuse survivors, others supporters and friends, for an informed discussion of the many important issues that surround child abuse. Anonymous calls and chat room participation are encouraged. ~~ Please see our web site at: www.NAASCA.org

Tonight I discuss the notion of living with, loving or being the "expert." I HATE when I become "the expert." I hate when I need others to kiss my ass and tell me I am awesome. Why do I do that?
What about you? Do you do that? Do you live with a self-proclaimed expert, a pompous prognosticator and just want to just punch them in the face or kick them in the balls? Then you need to listen.
I am is a fiery and outspoken humorist who combines his E-True Hollywood life story, improvisational theatre and play-writing talents, psychological and theological education and counseling profession into an action packed show of ideas, commentary and insights that hopefully inspire you to improve the quality of your life by getting your head out of your ass and your ass off of the couch.

Meghan McGill is the niece of Chris Derose who is the founder of Last Chance for Animals. Last Chance for Animals began in 1984 now it has been 30 years since they have been fighting for animals.
A fixture in animal rights movement for over a decade, Meghan McGill has played an integral role at Last Change for Animals (LCA) for the past eight years. As a longtime vegan and animal-welfare advocate, Meghan serves as LCA’s campaigns manager and works to educate the public on issues of animal cruelty and abuse.
Meghan has been instrumental in leading some of the largest protests in the country against circuses, the fur industry and Puppy mills. She oversaw the ban of fur in West Hollywood and the closing of multiple high-end pet stores in Los Angeles area. Meghan regularly participles in speaking engagements and outreach events with children and schools, and is committed to demonstrating compassion for all beings that need a voice in our world.
Founded in 1984 by Hollywood actor Chris DeRose, Last Chance For Animals (LCA) has its roots in fighting and exposing the inherent cruelty of vivisection. In the organization's early years, DeRose led teams of dedicated activists employing non-violent strategies modeled after social movements led by such leaders as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Using "Direct Action," LCA activists engaged in peaceful protest with determined resolve... to make sure their voices would be heard. When direct action was still a new concept in the American animal rights movement, every well-planned demonstration achieved tremendous media coverage. By the late 1980s, LCA was earning a national reputation for its no-nonsense approach to exposing animal cruelty.
