BEST BRAIN EXERCISE MAY BE PHYSICAL!
Time to get off your 'butts" literally! All you sedentary souls who sit-away your life, doing nothing and missing out on the benefits of BETTER BRAIN POWER.
Don't know your age but think on this, consider a work-out for THE BRAIN, NOT THE BODY. We know that exercise tones the legs, builds bigger biceps and strengthens the heart. But of all body parts that benefit from a good work-out, THE BRAIN may be the big winner! How do I know, not only do I work out regulary, I work my brain through memorization. Physical exercise is crucial to mind and body alike.
How does exercise help the brain...
Exercise triggers BDNF...etc.
Babies/children need exercise for...etc.
Exercise helps stave off...etc.
The brain loves it when...etc.

Carol J. Matthews-Shifflett, MA
Executive Director of the Sojourner Group, Salt Lake City, Utah. Ms. Shifflett has a Bachelors Degree in Cultural Anthropology and earned her Masters Degree in Community Leadership. After returning to college as a non-traditional student, Carol has been a proponent of empowering women and encouraging them to reach their highest potential. As the former Volunteer Coordinator for the YWCA, Salt Lake City, her career interest took on the direction of advocating for women in violent relationships. For the past 15 years she has been drawn to personal conversations with marginalized women of the African and Black Diaspora who often suffer in silence due to lack of cultural understanding from mainstream service providers. Carol has since been zealous in working to ensuring that Black women in Utah find their voices. As an active community leader, she firmly believes that leadership is not an individual venture, but one that involves a collective group of persons and personalities with a common goal of working for the good of the cause. Her chief principles are respect, integrity, communication, and commitment. It is with these qualities that she believes we can all collectively serve marginalized populations who have been victimized by sexual assault and domestic violence, improve the quality of their lives, and assist them on the journey of healthier lifestyles and families.

Today we will talk about the 2nd part of Chapter 10, The Organizational Model!
Empowering your people is KEY to your success and their success. I will cover the 10 Principles for doing this. We will also talk about Consulting your team member as this is at the very heart of empowerment. Instead of thinking of accountability as being confrontation, think of it as "carefrontation".
I will also cover the two D's in your organization: The Leadership D and the Business D. And having them both in your business is the key to building a truly great organization.
As an ongoing reminder, think of your Organziational Model this way:
Talent to shine,
Systems to define,
Train and consult to refine.
We have two options as we look around and see the darkness overwhelming our nation. We can sit back and wait for destruction or we can rise up and confront the darkness. If we decide to stand, and having done all to stand, we must contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints. If we choose this day to serve the Lord our God, we must submit ourselves unto His way, His methods and His agency. This battle cannot be won if we continue to fight according the commnadments and traditions of men. To continue this work of the flesh will only aid our enemies in the destruction of the Church, the family and our nation.
In this episode of Standing Firm, we will discuss where to begin in this call for reformation. Tune in this Friday at 12:00 pm eastern time as we call the saints of God to man their battle stations.
We will also announce a new project from Covenant Commission and Reformed Church of the Holy Trinity. Coming this October — RP15. For more information visit www.reformedconference.com
