For decades our society has fostered a “low view” of marriage and easy divorce. This series will not only enlarge your vision and understanding of matrimony, but it will deepen your understanding of the incredible love of Christ. This is exactly the kind of “high view” of marriage that is needed in the church and in our culture today!
If you want a role model to help you build a successful marriage, this discussion points you in the right direction. "The Covenant Marriage" examines the concept that God is our marriage role model as it explores the covenant He made with Abram and His descendants and how it relates to marriage.
WHERE ARE ALL THE ROLE MODELS??? In a time when the current goal of our youth is to appear on a reality show, marry a celebrity and so on; it is a great loss to have such a positive influence depart our society. In the light of our dearly d...eparted Maya Angelou, we will be discussing the lack of positive role models that exist for the children in our community. Tune in this Sunday as we discuss the diminishing state of our children's future.

This Week on What's Right About Men? - Role models for men-are there any?
It has been hypothesized that individuals compare themselves with differing reference groups who occupy the social role to which an individual aspires. If this is true, who are today's role models? Why is it important for any of us to have a role model? And, are role models necessary?

Nadia Ruiz began running during her freshman year in high school. She comes from a first generation immigrant family from Ecuador. Her parents raised their children with the principles to work hard, dedicate yourself to ones education, and always aim for ones highest personal integrity.
Unfortunately in middle school, she fell victim to bullying possibly for her academic achievements and late development. Her mother enrolled her immediately in the community boxing and Nadia had the opportunity to discover there as an endurance bug within.
She learned immediately that there was something special that running brought to her life so she decided to register for her first marathon at the age of 14.
Sixteen years later, she has completed over 120 marathons (3:16 PR), 55 half marathons (1:26 PR), 11 ultras, and 4 Ironman triathlons (12:34 PR) frequently in the top of her age group or Top Overall women.
Nadia graduated with her BS, M.Ed, and Teacher's Credential from UCLA at the age of 20. Nadia has been a HS Biology educator, coach, and marketing consultant for 10 years.
Nadia shares her passion of fitness, health, and education with her family and friends in hopes to continue to encourage others to seek their goals, especially young aspiring Latinos who dream of achieving their dreams.
Nadia shares, "I will live my life as I choose. I hope to continue to follow where my heart guides me exploring and challenging myself in new terrain as long as I can while encouraging others to do so as well."
Nadia states, "In order to reach others, I have created some profiles on social media where I share my struggles, triumphs, and challenges throughout my life to demonstrate to others that they may other overcome their struggles to reach their goals."
Why Are Openly Gay Positive Role Models Important for Children?
Because some children, from a very early age may be aware that they are LGBT. For a child or young person growing up heterosexual there are many positive role models available. Gay people traditionally have tended to shy away from acting as role models, for fear of judgement or discrimination, despite this there are countless LGBT people world wide who act as positive role models in a variety of jobs and situations.
For any child or young person who has LGBT family, friends or may be questioning themselves, it is vital that they see their own lives reflected positively in both the school and the wider community.

"Helping to provide clean water for children in Nigeria"
Luke Pyytic, Temecula Valley New Generations Rotary President-Elect International
The most recent project that I have been working on is a water well and storage tank at a primary school in Onitsha, Nigeria. The school currently hosts over 500 children on a daily basis. Before now the only source of water was from a unreliable water truck delivering unfiltered water from the River Niger. My Rotary Club and I performed fundraisers, as well as campaigning through other Clubs in our district to raise over $10,000 to perform the project. This well will not only provide clean water to the children, but to the surrounding community.
Luke Pytlik is a member of the Temecula Valley New Generations Rotary Club. He currently serves as the President Elect as well as the International Director. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, and is to be the President of his club in the 2015-2016 Rotary year.
