ABOUT TODAY'S SHOW:
Today’s guest is Dr. MaryAnn Block, ‘Medical Detective’. Dr. Block believes the MTHFR gene mutation is a highly significant public health problem that is completely ignored. There are literally millions of people who are suffering from pulmonary embolisms, addictions, fibromyalgia, miscarriages, schizophrenia, severe depression, cancer and autism to name a few. All of these issues may be linked to a MTHFR gene mutation, which expresses these symptoms and health conditions. The lab test to determine which MTHFR mutations are present is only about $150.00, and yet most insurance companies won’t pay for it.
Today, we’ll be talking about what MTHFR is, why it’s important, why women especially should be tested for this gene, and which supplements are important if you discover that you have this gene.

After ten minutes he starts the Blog review about MTHFR, a gene and enzyme of major significance. Site intro about NCCAM.NIH.GOV, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Site comments about OMIM site. Additional comments about patient rapport. Come on in.
Dr. Ben Lynch visits the show to break down MTHFR in a way that everyone can understand. Find out how a common genetic mutation reduces your body's ability to transform folate into its active form and all of the downstream health problems that may ensue, including mood disorders, cardiovascular disease, immune system problems, autism, Down's syndrome, and more. A must-listen!

We will be going over the topics of methylation, MTHFR and gut heath. Dr. Tim Jackson and Sterling Hill, founder of MTHFRsupport.com, will be your hosts and will also talk about future guests and take calls from listeners.
We will explain why MTHFR is only a small part of methylation and why healing the gut is a must before starting a MTHFR protocol.
Blog and Tweet Review including comments about the MTHFR mutation discussed in a post by Dr Jill. This may increase risks for fibromyalgia, miscarriage, depression and a host of other diagnoses.
Angelina Jolie made a decision to have a double mastectomy because of her family history and genetic testing. Dr Jonas (Dr Synonymous) discusses her decision and makes other genomic comments.
He closes with comments about his post about George Jones, Tim Tebow and Marcus Welby.
Sterling will be interviewed by Dr. Jess Armine and clinical nutritionist Shawn Bean. She will explain how and why she founded Mthfr Support.
Sterling Hill was a highly successful businesswoman for many years until 8 years ago when she became ill with clotting issues. She went from physician to physician but her condition progressively deteriorated. She lost everything. As traditional medical thinking was failing, she reached out to the alternative medicine community and the work of Amy Yasko, PhD and Dr. Ben Lynch and discovered the world of epigenetics. She learned the basics of her clotting issues resided in the methylation cycle.fter regaining her life from treatment, Sterling realized that the medical and lay community knew little of epigenetics and nutrigenomics. She realized that these subjects were of vast importance to the health of everyone on the planet, often being the proverbial “stone that was left unturned” in chronic illness of any type. As a result, Sterling started MTHFRsupoport.com to learn and share the knowledge of genetic polymorphisms and their effect on health. Her passion is to help educate the world of the true root cause of chronic diseases and link expert health care providers with those in need. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our medical disclaimer can be found at: http://www.mthfrsupport.com/
