Memorial Day Special Rebroadcast
Despite downward trends in unemployment across the country, veterans who served during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars still have difficulty finding work. About one in 11 of them 9% were jobless in 2013. Analysts say finding work is toughest on those who served on the front lines: infantry. A key problem for these veterans is resume preparation, and tailoring them to the jobs they are seeking.
Aaron Glover, Transition Patient Advocate with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs will share his insights and best practices working with veterans.

Memorial Day meaning? What's causing all these suicides among our returning veterans? Betty has figured it out; listen in as she explains it to the world. Gail Soffer is the Founder and Executive Director of the Mindful Warrior Project, a non-profit organization serving veterans, active duty service members, their families, and their service providers. Gail holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkeley/Santa Cruz and certifications in a wide range of health, wellness, and healing modalities. She draws on her vast experience working with populations facing challenges and her own decades-long mindfulness practice to bring the simple yet powerful tools of mindfulness to the military-connected community. Empowering this population to participate in its own healing process - from enhancing basic quality of life to easing suffering to bringing the hope and options to prevent suicide - is at the core of the Mindful Warrior Project’s work. Gail participates in many veteran service organization Collaboratives, Boards, and Coalitions, and manages Wellness Areas and Children’s Areas at Stand Downs, Summits, and other large events.

Often people think that trust & surrender do not include action but it is in our intention and action that the keep the light moving through us. Generating healing energy, for example, requires a lot of inner work of acceptance, trust and surrender.
Trust & surrender are part of the most important fundamentals of spiritual work and sometimes it takes a lot of practice to make it a life style. People were taught -"everything will work out just fine" if they are people of faith but the real, light, positive, healing energy can enter only if we make a move.
Even working as a hollow bone and 'allowing things to come or to bubble up' is not passive at all. We will share more about the connection between hollow bone medicine and trust & surrender and how they can change YOUR lives!
Bring your ideas, thoughts and comments as always. The talking stick is now YOURS! Hit the link below just before show time to join in.
We invite listeners to come and participate in the discussion and the sharing of knowledge. In addition, we thank all our listeners for truly “being” the shows we air. Join us!
