4/26/15 - RLSN Milwaukee Baseball Report presented by Coach E-Dubs Fitness/LOF

    in Baseball

It’s week three of the 2015 season and the Milwaukee Brewers are averaging just one victory a week. At this point last year the Brewers had 18 wins, at the pace they are going right now, they won’t reach 18 wins until August. I doubt they will continue their one win a week trend until then, but it has been a rough season so far. The Milwaukee Brewers placed two more on the DL, Catcher Jonathon Lucroy and second basemen Scooter Gennett. Gennett now owns the weirdest injury of the 2015 season as he cut his hand reaching for body wash in the Pittsburgh Pirates shower last Sunday and Lucroy suffered a fractured toe after taking a foul tip off of it catching on Tuesday.

In this weeks episode of the Milwaukee Baseball Report, Evan will recap the past week in the Brewers season and discuss if there is any hope to savage the season. He will also give his good, bad, and ugly of the week.  This show us brought to you by Coach E-Dubs Fitness and Legend of the Fields.

    in Lifestyle

On this episode, we will interview Sherri VandenAkker and her sister, Krystyn White

Sherri is the creator of the film My Name Was Bette:  The Life and Death of an Alcoholic. This stunning documentary offers a shocking yet moving look at women's alcoholism.  The film chronicles the progression of the disease in Sherri and Krystyn's mother, Bette VandenAkker -- a nurse, wife, and mother -- who died in September, 2007.   The film, which was also created by Josh WE Hays, employs interviews, family photographs, medical records and graphics, and court documents to provide a personal and detailed look at the physical, emotional, and mental toll of alcoholism.  The film also also offers hope to those affected by the disease who seek to heal their pain and strained relationships.

On this show we will talk with Sherri and Krystyn about their personal journeys with their mother's alcoholism, as well as discuss what it was like to create the film.  If you have ever loved someone who struggled with alcoholism, you understand the challenges of loving someone with this disease.

Autumn, The Play Inspired by the Newark NJ Mayors Cory Booker and Sharp James!

SATURDAY, APRIL 19, 2015 EXCLUSIVE: MNN's "The Gist of Freedom" Interviews of Richard Wesley and cast members! Mr. Wesley an Award-winning Playwright and Screenwriter talks about his new play, "Autumn"!

Richard Wesley, whose hits include "Uptown Saturday Night" and "Let's Do It Again" which starred Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby and "The Mighty Gents" which went to Broadway.

"Autumn," an absorbing new drama by Richard Wesley that probes the fragility of political legacies and human relationships, premieres at Crossroads Theatre Company April 23 through May 3.

"Autumn" is the first full-length stage play, since the premiere of Wesley's acclaimed work, "The Talented Tenth," in 1989, which looked at the lives of a group of Howard University graduates who were part of an emerging Black elite.

“I began thinking that there was a new generation of post-civil rights movement politicians emerging that was very different from the generation that came of age during the civil rights movement,” Wesley said. “There was a group of old-school politicians who found themselves wrapped up in political scandals; and right behind [them] were these younger politicians who were moving up.”

Since 1995, Wesley has been an associate professor of dramatic writing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he served as chair of the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing for eight years. He is a former vice president of the Writers Guild of America, East.

Crossroads Theater Company is located at 7 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. For tickets, call (732) 545-8100 or purchase online at crossroadstheatrecompany.org.

    Making Natural Connections: Grandmother Moon

    in Self Help

During a full moon, it is a time of completion, a time of taking action and a time of moving forward. It is also a time when emotions can run high and many believe this is a direct influence of the moon. The moon is seen as a Grandmother figure in many native tribes and represents a divine feminine force of compassion and understanding. She has a powerful connection to the element of water as seen by her influence of the tides. Connecting with this energy can be profound and empowering by helping you to listen to your intuition. Learn how you can benefit from a stronger connection to the moon during this week’s radio show with Master Teacher of Interior Alignment® Bill Schwingel. He’ll share methods for connecting with this energy and ceremony you can perform to better align with the energy of compassion. Listen in this Sunday at 6 p.m. EST!

About Bill: Trained by Interior Alignment® founder Denise Linn, Bill is a Master Teacher of Instinctive Feng Shui™ and Seven Star Blessing™ Space Clearing. He also had the honor of being certified in Medicine Wheel Feng Shui™ and Advanced Interior Alignment™ by IA Master Educator LuAnn Cibik.

When consulting, he finds his inspiration from nature, connecting with the energy of the earth, the trees and the animals to gather insights for his clients, whether improving the flow of energy in a space, clearing the energy of a space or creating sacred ceremony. He also incorporates his work as an Earth Energy practitioner to provide earth acupuncture for the surrounding land of a home or business.
