Our Favorite Conscious Raising Movies and Books is the Focus of Today's Forum: What did they teach us! Let's share and discuss the movies, books that taught us important understandings and raised our consciousness!
The Questions and Thoughts That We Seek To Ponder, Discuss and Answer In This Forum:
Can a movie or book raise my consciousness and change my understanding of who I am or we are?
What book or movie totally made you have a wonderful "Ah Ha!" moment; causing a change in your understanding of life and your existence; or simply confirmed what you have always believed to be true?
When you read a "good" book, or see a "good" movie that strikes an enlighten cord in your soul; how do you use the information to help lead or change your life?
Who or what do you think inspires the conscious or unconscious motives of the writer(s) or directors of your favorite books or movies that seem to have sent/implanted in us important messages?

A compelling dark vampire saga of love, secrets, lies, and betrayal.
Centuries ago ten powerful vampire gods first walked the earth; their blood thirst knew no boundaries. The destruction of mankind was inevitable. Recognizing their weakness, they selected twelve wise human beings to transform with their godly blood. These twelve, known as The Old Ones and The Council, govern The Ten. A blood lottery appeasing The Ten's hunger was set forth into the human world and passed down every fifth generation, continuing into the present day.
All of Beth Ryan's life a mysterious mist watched over her, a mist she believed to be a vampire. On a cold winter night, she comes face to face with Philippe Delon, a 700 year old vampire with a human soul. Beth is certain Philippe is the vampire behind the mist. She is drawn to him, accepting his immortality without question or fear.
Beth and Philippe cannot deny their love for each other, nor do they try to fight it. Within days of their encounter, Beth accepts Philippe's invitation to move into his mansion. The mansion unlocks the door to the vampire world and exposes secrets from Beth's past. Within its walls, she learns the true identity of the mist, her link to the blood lottery, and betrayal of her loved ones. Surrounded by lies, Beth stands before The Council begging for resolution.
Hidden Inheritance: Family Secrets, Memory, and Faith~
Heidi Neumark’s life changed when a few computer keystrokes exposed a generation of family secrets. Late one night while her family slept, Neumark discovered her hidden Jewish heritage—and uncovered hundreds of questions: Did her grandfather really die in a concentration camp? How did she never know her grandmother was a death-camp survivor? Why had the family history and faith been rejected and hidden?
Heidi’s search for the truth quickly became more than a personal journey; it also became spiritual. It caused profound ponderings on her thirty-year vocation as a Lutheran pastor. It was a shocking revelation that her Jewish roots and successive family loss and trauma now suddenly and inherently connected her to the multi-ethnic, marginalized community she had been ministering to for three decades.
Hidden Inheritance takes the reader on a journey that seamlessly weaves personal narrative, social history, and biblical reflection to challenge readers to explore their own identity, vocation, and theology. Neumark boldly calls readers to explore the harsh places of the past, uncover the possible buried secrets, ask new questions, forge new understanding, and discover new hope for transformation that is only possible when what has been hidden is finally brought to light.
