    BleachBANGS /Warlock Texas

    in Music

The roots of North Texas’ Metal Legends, WARLOCK, can be traced to the earliest primal stirrings of the Lone Star State’s embryonic Heavy Metal music scene. Certainly, there were rock bands playing the club circuit before Warlock emerged in 1981 and some of these bands would occasionally play an Iron Maiden or Ozzy song amongst their Bob Seger and Loverboy tunes. Pantera was among these cover bands and leaned heavier than some but their set consisted of a lot of “party” rock songs from Van Halen and Def Leppard. Warlock was one of the first, if not THE first local band to be “all metal, all the time” and, by metal, we mean the hardest, rawest, most uncompromising metal around in the early 80’s, following the same course as bands such as Motorhead, Venom, Exciter, Priest, Saxon, Holocaust, Raven, etc (in fact Warlock played covers by all of those bands).
The first line up of Warlock included Jerry Warden on vocals, his brother David on guitar, Casey Orr on bass and Harden Harrison on drums.

    900 Seconds: QUEEN V, December 26th at 3pm EST

    in Entertainment

Ferocious, hard rock, guitar playing, passionate vocals, endless swagger and attitude: This is what Rock 'N' Roll is all about, and this is exactly what you get with Queen V.

Queen V, the band, started in 1996. In 2003, they opened for Twisted Sister and toured with Billy Idol (it was this tour that I first witnessed her INCREDIBLE performance) and Bon Jovi (2005) at The Meadowlands. After a performance in 2004 at the legendary (The) Viper Room, V met Tom Morello and Lemmy (of Motorhead). Both Tom Morello and Lemmy have collaborated  with Queen V and recorded 'My Machine' (with TM) and 'Wasted' (with Lemmy), which can be found on Queen V's latest release: A Decade of Queen V.

Queen V has performed at numerous festivals and travels frequently on a NY/LA circuit.

Since 2007, V has worked diligently to preserve New York's underground music scene throught the 'Take Back New York' show listings.

Get ready to have your blood pumping! Queen V is in the house!
