TOPIC: Liberals That Have Turned Conservative; what’s Their Motives? Or do they have some sort of angle? Did they make the jump to the GOP for money, or were their intentions solid and true.

Because from where I’m sitting most of the ones causing trouble are former liberal progressives, some come from very extreme backgrounds in the Democratic Party.

    Internal Narcissus' Kellie Wright

    in Self Help

Join Kellie Wright, Internal Narcissus & Steve Thompson on PURE Motive Radio

Internal Narcissus is a series of mental excavations to define the hidden treasure within.

    http://www.internalnarcissus.com

I am an internal narcissus. Loving myself openly, so I can love others truly. People amaze me, I feel their energy when I look at them and expand in their presence. Believing each life is real magic that shines brightly in the venue of its choice vibrating in the hues of its own disposition. Causing our worlds to bleed into each other, measured or not, through juxtaposed strokes of intent, or divine intervention. A blending of spirit and breathe creating the Picasso of the grandest illusion of all, life.

I hear our beauty both pure and naught whispered in feelings that race through me with the sole purpose to be understood. Moments of song sent to me through time at lightning speed from places I do not know, but demand to become words expressed and shared.

I write about internal byways of thought, action, and perception that are ours to use. Believing we are a magical phenomenon that can radiate vibrational beauty from knowledge harbored deep within. That once we know we are one with source and are never alone we will have nothing to fear.

Billy Moore, A Prayer Before Dawn, soon to be a Hollywood Movie

    in Self Help

Fighting for your life and your sanity, eating rotten fish, sleeping next to a dead body, and being able to survive it all, and recover

Billy Moore and his book "A Prayer Before Dawn", which is soon to be a Hollywood movie. A Prayer Before Dawn is the true story of one man’s fight to survive inside Klong Prem Prison, the notorious Bangkok Hilton. Billy Moore travelled to Thailand to escape a life of drug addiction and alcoholism. He managed to overcome his inner demons for a time but relapsed after trying ya ba – a highly addictive form of methamphetamine.

Moore’s life quickly descended into chaos, drug dealing and violence until he was eventually arrested and imprisoned in Klong Prem, a place where life has no value. A Prayer Before Dawn is no ordinary prison memoir; it’s the story of one man’s struggle to survive in one of the world’s toughest prisons. It’s also a story of redemption in the most unlikely of places.

    in Self Help

    Christopher Kennedy Lawford

    Guest on PURE Motive Radio

New York Times bestselling author Christopher Kennedy Lawford revisits addiction in his latest book,What Addicts Know, this time framing the discussion in an entirely new way—the lessons addiction and recovery offer to those of us who haven’t battled addiction.

What Addicts Know offers the coping and wellness skills necessary to overcome life’s obstacles and self-improvement tips for everything from conquering an unhealthy consumption of junk food, to overcoming toxic relationships. These techniques are not just for addicts; they are for all of us.

No one until now has related the lessons and life skills that can be drawn from the collective experience of people in recovery from addiction, particularly the ways those lessons or principles can be used by those in the broader non-recovery community. In What Addicts Know, Lawford recounts the inspiring stories and wisdom of recovering addicts, combining them with cutting-edge scientific findings to give hands-on, practical techniques for recognizing unhealthy impulses and managing them.

If you’re ready to change for the better your habits, your frame of mind, your relationships, your community, and your life, What Addicts Know is the resource that will educate and inspire you along the way.

Sheff’s Beautiful Boy, published in 2008, was based on his article, “My Addicted Son,” which appeared in the New York Times Magazine. The article won a special award from the American Psychological Association for “outstanding contribution to the understanding of addiction.” Beautiful Boy was named the year’s Best Nonfiction Book by Entertainment Weekly, and it won first place in the Barnes and Noble Discover Award in nonfiction.

    Beware Anonymous Predators

    in Self Help

In 2011, Karla Brada Mendez was strangled to death by Eric Allen Earle, a man she met at a 12-step meeting. Anonymity rules help obscure people with criminal records, and many new members, especially women, report being the targets of unwanted sexual advances. Dozens of women wrote to tell me what one study already showed, that a majority are harassed. Many are groped and some are raped. Some are even murdered.

What is so punk about your church?

    in Radio

Various rumblings about church culture and doing things for the right motive. Also what it looks like when we take things into our own hand and try to make things happen, without exercising faith. Learning to forgive, and what it means to let God keep doors shut, and recognize when God is opening a door or we are manipulating the circumstances to get what we want. And going through open doors, and opening doors ourselves when Satan has closed them.
