Episode 3 Mormonism--Is it Christian?
How often have you heard a knock at the door and when you open you find two young men dressed up in a white shirt and tie with the name tag elder so and so. As you begin to talk to them they speak with terms that sound Christian and will even affirm themselves to be Christians. But are Mormons truly Christians? Does Mormonism teach the same things as biblical Christianity?
On this episode we will examine what the Mormons believe and actually teach and see if what they say they believe is actually Christian or something else!
This week we'll be discussing Mormonism and Brain Washing with Luna Lindsey, author of Recovering Agency: Lifting the Veil of Mormon Mind Control. Luna is a former member of the LDS and now outspoken critic who helps others leave the church and discover the truth about its tactics.

Former Mormon Bishop Lee Baker answers the questions of African Listeners who were offended when they heard Brother Baker claim that the Mormon Church teaches racism in their Book of Mormon Scriptures. While Africans claimed Bishop Lee is not telling the truth, he responded in love, showing the evidence directly from the current edition of the Book of Mormon itself, the very Scripture that all Mormons claim they believe:
2 Nephi 5:21: “And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.” -- Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon is racist, and these racist statements prove that this book is NOT from God. All Mormons, both black and white, regardless of their color of skin should be offended that the Book of Mormon says that blacks are cursed because of the color of their skin. God is not racist. We know these statements are not from God because God loves all men, regardless of their skin color:
ROMANS 2:11; 3:22: “For there is no respect of persons with God.…Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.…” -- The KJV Bible
Tune in as the Sistas chat with Russell Stevensen, author of For the Cause of Righteousness: A Global History of Black and Mormonism, 1830 - 2013. Russell's newest work seeks to explore the story of blacks and Mormonism through an intimate lens, focusing not only on the experiences of church leaders but also the ordinary Latter-day Saint: the day laborer nervous about his African ancestry, the West African woman establishing her own ‘Mormon’ congregation, the Pat Boone-loving Mormon missionary in Africa and the Black Panther musing on the Mormons’ wasted potential. Robert Orsi has argued that religion ‘comes into being in an ongoing, dynamic relationship with realities of everyday life.’ Race was both a spoken and lived experience. The Mormon people witnessed it, felt it, and absorbed it. But for the Mormon people, racism was also a conscious decision—and one that exacted a heavy toll during their epoch in the wilderness.
On Sunday, June 23 2013, I had great conversation with Andrea Boring of the Modern Catholic Mom blog about her conversion from Mormonism to Catholicism. This was actually a reversion story to the Catholic Church that her father brought the family into when she was a teenager.
Andrea Boring is a Catholic wife, mom, web designer, blogger and speaker. She has passion for sharing stories of blessings, miracles and reflections to bring fallen away Catholics home, bring new souls to the church and revitalize active Catholics. She resides in Mesa, Arizona, with her husband David, and twin 5 year olds, Hayden and Logan.
I’ve already had a number of great reviews of this show. Unfortunately, it got off to a rough start due to technical difficulties and ended about three minutes early, so you’ll hear two different starts of the podcast and end inconveniently. Nevertheless, I really think you’ll love it and draw from good fruit out of it. This is one conversion story that I believe everyone should hear.
Hmm, let's see... With teachings such as - "The Cross of Christ is repugnant" 6th prophet of Mormonism said that!! They teach that God lives on planet Kolob and rules from there...Some mormons actually think that God came down and had sex with Mary and that's how Jesus came along. They profess that Jesus had many wives....um, so ehh, Jesus commits adultery?? Tune in TONIGHT LIVE @ 8pm est - to find out how crazy this religion is.
What IS the Gospel - so many have asked me that question. So, with God's strength and guidance, I have decided to take on the mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with ALL!!
