Join Devin and Melissa Pellew each week at they discuss topics related to biblical theology, Christian apologetics and worldview issues. During the first half hour, Devin will be sharing highlights from his talk from last weekend at Overcome: An Apologetics Conference for the Church on the topic: "Overcoming the Hijacking of Science".
During our second hour, we will be joined by Dr. John David Ferrer, an educator and minister originally from South Carolina. He earned his BA in religion from Charleston Southern University, and an MDiv in Apologetics from SES. While in South Carolina he served 4 years as an associate pastor at North Rock Hill church, and 2 years as a collegiate missionary to Winthrop University. He moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where he married the lovely former Hillary Morgan. There in Texas they settled in, both teaching as while he earned a ThM and PhD in philosophy of religion at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. John spent 6 years teaching apologetics to high school students at Pantego Christian Academy and has also taught ethics, world religions, philosophy and logic at the college level.
John has debated several well-known atheists and served for two semesters as Chapter Director with Ratio Christi at Dallas Baptist University. Currently he and Hillary live in Pella, Iowa where they develop content for an education based website and pine for apologetics opportunities. John has delivered presentations on abortion in many venues. John and Hillary are passionate about prolife apologetics identifying it as the single-largest crime against humanity the world has ever seen. On today's broadcast, we will be discussing the Moral Argument for God's Existence and John'srecent debate with atheist activist Matt Dillahunty on the topic. You do not want to miss it!
April promises to bring a dynamic show for us on the 13th. Paul J. Zak is a scientist, prolific author, and public speaker. His book The Moral Molecule: The Source of Love and Prosperity was published in 2012 and was a finalist for the Wellcome Trust Book Prize. He is the founding Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies and Professor of Economics, Psychology and Management at Claremont Graduate University. Dr. Zak also serves as Professor of Neurology at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He has degrees in mathematics and economics from San Diego State University, a Ph.D. in economics from University of Pennsylvania, and post-doctoral training in neuroimaging from Harvard. He is credited with the first published use of the term "neuroeconomics" and has been a vanguard in this new discipline. He organized and administers the first doctoral program in neuroeconomics. Dr. Zak's lab discovered in 2004 that the brain chemical oxytocin allows us to determine who to trust. His current research has shown that oxytocin is responsible for virtuous behaviors, working as the brain's "moral molecule." This knowledge is being used to understand the basis for civilization and modern economies, improve negotiations, and treat patients with neurologic and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Zak's work on oxytocin and relationships has earned him the nickname "Dr. Love." His current work applies neuroscience to improve marketing and consumer experiences, and to build high performance organizations.
Join us at 2pm for an amazing show.
Degradation derives from the Latin degradare: de-, meaning “down,” and gradus, meaning "step." Degradation is, thus, the act of lowering something or someone to a less respectable state. When a society or civilization experiences a disintegration of normative values, when good is called evil and evil is spoken of as good, when sin is embraced but holiness is mocked and rejected that civilization is caught in moral degradation. Is there any doubt that America is there today?
What then are the righteous to do? Does God's word offer instruction, counsel or hope to a people that would live godly in the midst of a society in moral decline? Join us tonight to hear truth from one of the great field generals in the faith about the Lord's expectation and provision for His people in such perilous times

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING...As you DISLIKE IT: THE ANTI-BARD CLUB!
Shakespeare died 400 years ago. We celebrated his birthday on April 23rd, but HIS FAMOUS CRITICS LIVE ON!
CIRCA-2016...Shakespeare's towering presence in modern culture is escalating. His reputation exits on a plane separate from other writers. Shakespeare himself has become a precious stone set in a silver sea of words.
Over the centuries, a surprising roster of famous writers and celebrated personages have picked quarrels with the MAN FROM STRATFORD. The complaints about THE BARD have run the gamut from moral to artistic, one type is almost unique to him...it's called WAMS.
Definiton OF WAMS...etc.
A Mid-Summer Night's Dream...etc.

in The Bible
We should read and study the Bible because it is God's Word to us. The Bible is literally "God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16). In other words, it is God's very words to us. There are so many questions that philosophers have asked that God answers for us in Scripture. What is the purpose to life? Where did I come from? Is there life after death? How do I get to heaven? Why is the world full of evil? Why do I struggle to do good? In addition to these "big" questions, the Bible gives much practical advice in areas such as: What do I look for in a mate? How can I have a successful marriage? How can I be a good friend? How can I be a good parent? What is success and how do I achieve it? How can I change? What really matters in life? How can I live so that I do not look back with regret? How can I handle the unfair circumstances and bad events of life victoriously?
We should read and study the Bible because it is totally reliable and without error. The Bible is unique among so-called "holy" books in that it does not merely give moral teaching and say, "Trust me." Instead, we can read it for ourselves.

And here we are at my most recent pair of guest-hosting gigs on Constitution Radio, full of #NeverTrumpy goodness - but with a warning to our side and the GOP leadership: Don't try to fiddle with the rules after the fact or "challenge" duly bound Trump delegates or pull any other monkey business at the Cleveland convention and lend credence to what should remain whiny, bogus nonsense. Don't turn the millionaire slumlord into the martyr he craves to be. There may not be any such thing as winning by losing, but there definitely is such a thing as losing with dignity - and the moral high ground that will give us the right to say, "SEE, WE TOLD YOU SO!" when it's all mercifully over. Assuming it ever is.
And yes, dear old Dad's VA Aid & Attendance pension application paperwork is all done....excecpt for the physician's report, which will require an office visit...two weeks from now. But was zum Teufel, you can only do what you can you, right?
Live podcasts resume this Monday, May 2nd.

'Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our
own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.' -- C. S. Lewis
