In March 2010, she joined CBS News as an anchor and correspondent, contributing to the network’s broadcasts and platforms, including The Early Show.
Before joining CBS News, Nguyen served as anchor of the weekend morning edition of CNN Newsroom since 2004. Betty has had some amazing assignments During this time at CNN, she anchored the network’s coverage of major news events, including the earthquakes in Chile and Haiti in 2010, Pope Benedict XVI’s first papal visit to the United States in 2008, the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007, the death of Pope John Paul II in April 2005, and the London bombing attacks in July 2005. We are all taught that the Red Army surrounded Berlin and that, faced with capture by the Soviet Union, Adolf Hitler and his new wife Eva Braun (Hitler) committed suicide in the Führerbunker. Don't believe it - Josef Stalin knew better as did most of the world leaders of the time! Stalin even made a great fuss about Hitler's escape in statements he made in July of 1945 - more than two months after the alleged suicide.
Author Harry Cooper has worked on this for two and a half decades with dozens of trips to German, Austria, the Soviet Union, Russia and since 2008 four expeditions to Argentina, to Chile and Brazil where he found the remains of the nuclear research facility in a remote part of Argentina that was built in 1947, two years AFTER the war ended; built by German scientists.
It is well known that two German submarines surrendered in Argentina well after the German surrender. U-530 surrendered in late July 1945 and U-977 surrendered in early August but the surrender order came on May 8. Why did they take three months to surrender? And why at the other end of the

Join hosts Linda Rez and William Pollard (Wild 4 Washington Wine) for a conversation with the Gilles Nicault, Director of Winemaking for Long Shadows Vintners, a winery that brings together the Rock Stars of winemaking for all the major worldwide wine regions. He is also the winemaker for Long Shadows' acclaimed Chester-Kidder, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah blend.
Gilles grew up in southern France and graduated from the University of Avignon with a degree in viticulture and enology. He honed his craft in the fabled hillside vineyards and wineries of Cotes du Rhone, Provence and Champagne. In 1994, already a vintner of rising fame in his homeland, Gilles traveled to Washington State to expand his winemaking.
Impressed by Washington State's vineyards, he stayed in the Columbia Valley, working for Staton Hills and Hogue Cellars before joining Woodward Canyon in 1996, where he stayed until moving to Long Shadows in June 2003. Sharing Woodward Canyon's passion for world-class wines, Gilles soon found Woodward Canyon's founder Rick Small was his ideal mentor and biggest champion. In 1999, Woodward Canyon named Gilles head of enology and production.
Gilles is married to French-born winemaker Marie-Eve Gilla of Forgeron Cellars, an upcoming guest on the Wine Muse show, "The Rise, Fall, and Rise of Chardonnay".
