I was so financially unprepared when I set out into the world after college. I had a good job, but I had very little knowlege about money managment and personal finance. Needless to say, It set me back in life.
After moving to St. Louis with my job, I came across an organization that taught personal finance and the folks I met there were like family. That was years ago, but through fate, I re-connected with one of those Financial Angels right here in Chicago.

I'm not a financial planner, accountant or insurance agent, but I do manage my budget so that I can pay my bills on time. I also have money for emergencies and for the future. How about you?
Money management is not instinctive to everyone. In this episode, I talk about three keys to getting your finances organized. You will learn various ways to create systems that help you allocate your financial resources more easily.
I cover options for people who want everything to be as electronic as possible as well as ways for paper-and-pencils listeners to be more organized with their finances.
Adults will always be responsible for their money, but it doesn't have to be time-consuming or overwhelming.

I have been learning so much from my Monday night conversations with Carletta. This process is helping me to stay on top of my priorities when it comes to money. It's so easy to get caught up in everyday life and forget about your financial game plan.
Which brings us to tonight's conversation "I Have Insurance on My Job". It's so easy to switch jobs and forget to update your information. So, Carletta thought this would be a good topic to discuss this Money Matters Monday. And I agree, in fact, I have a guest caller that's going to spend about 5 minutes with us to talk about their experience with transitioning from a job and trying to take their job life insurance with them. Interesting stuff.
