Today we are thinking of our nation’s Thanksgiving holiday and Debi Dutton and Elissa Sungar, the mother-daughter co-founders of If Not You Who.org, give some tips on how to teach a child to be thankful. Children that are thankful have more positive attitudes toward school and family. They also feel more of a connection with friends, family and school. Being grateful makes people happier, improves health and reduces stress. How wonderful that Productive Play shares ways to instill the character trait of thankfulness into our little one’s lives.

Let's face it, you don't believe in you like you wish you did. But you once did. Yes, as a child you believed in you. If you're like a lot woman I know, you believed in you in your twenties. You saw something you wanted and you went after it. Those shoes. That expensive purse. That degree. That hunk of burning yum. You wanted it and you did whatever it took to have it, right?
Well, you ain't gotta go out like that. You know, like a whimp, wuss, punk. Woman, get your mojo back! When you do, the frickin' world will surrender to you.

Magical payback The problem confronting the pacifist in this world is the world is full of bullies. Either magically or mundanely there are people out there that just love to mess with other people and make their lives a living hell. The thing we have probably all learned about bullies is that leaving them alone will not make them go away, turning the other cheek will most likely get you bitch slapped on both cheeks. The only way to do away with a bully is to confront them, hit back and perhaps, crush them entirely. Tonight Candelo and Michael shall open up their bags of tricks and give you some techniques you can use in these times to get those fools off your back. We welcome your calls and any techniques you can share.

And we're back and in full effect, people! Listen to the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse podcast, airing this Saturday at 6pm EST. Check out Dburt, Capt. Kirk and "The Uncanny" Daryll B. as they shed light on this week's blerd (and not blerd) oriented subject matter: well...it's finally here! the crew unpacks just how binge worthy is Netflix' Jessica Jones? And what about Luke Cage coming to life?; noted comic creator and educator, John Ira Jennings stops by to discuss his latest project, Blue Hand Mojo as well as his history in pulp fiction, thoughts on diversity in comics and minority themed comic conventions; more guests! cosplayer, Valerie Complex of Anime Complexium joins us to discuss racist and misogynist trolling being levied toward female cosplayers of color; can CW's The Flash get any better? Not only does longtime Flash villain, Gorilla Grodd make another appearance but we also caught a glimpse of Gorilla City; early reviews for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens centered video game, Battlefront are in (and they're mixed...or are they); Marvel execs suggest that the internet tales of Netlix' Iron Fist series being scrapped are false (whew); more stories of higher education racism are on the rise as photos of (solely) Black Harvard law professors are defaced on campus; an all White Oscar worthy actress cover of the Hollywood Reporter stirs controversy. And lastly, in the wake of radical Islamic attacks in Mali, are African-Americans as invested in the terrorist debate as the general public? And if not, should they be?
