Richie Frieman has been called a modern Renaissance man. This could be because he has been a professional sculptor, author, illustrator, inventor, and wrestler. Yes, you read that right. He's also the youngest recipient of the Honors Program Laureate – formerly theSmithsonian – award for music. He's also made just about every 35/40 Under 35/40 list in the area.
Currently, he is best known as the Modern Manners Guy. The specifics might change, Emily Post's dos and don't may no longer apply, but manners and etiquette never go out of style. And they're easy to digest with Richie's humor and light touch. Check out his Quick and Dirty Tips blog for some, well, quick and dirty tips.
His most recent book is in that arena: REPLY ALL...And Other Ways to Tank Your Career. It is a great resource for workplace etiquette, from interview tips to handling difficult co-workers – you are going to run into them – to how to handle people trying to get you to buy something for their kid's soccer uniforms. The book is an Amazon best seller in three categories and one of the youngest on their Best Sellers list.
He's also written award-winning children's books starring Terple the turtle, and started a kid's clothing line called Charm City Babies. Richie has a wife and two – very polite – kids.

Whether it's an office of 5 or 500, how you treat people says a lot about what kind of professional you are. Sadly today, not everyone is onboard with treating others properly and spend their day chalking up one unmannerly trait after the other, on their way to the top. Author and manners guru, Richie Frieman aka Modern Manners Guy, has written the book on office place etiquette, from the Cubical Invader, The Boardroom Bully, how NOT to act at an office holiday party, inner office dating, and much, much more. Richie will share his thoughts and ideas on this very important topic.
St. Martin's Press calls Richie Frieman, "A modern day Renaissance man" – an apt description for one of the most diverse and unusual careers in a young man of 34. Richie is an award winning children's book author, illustrator, entrepreneur, former professional wrestler and the host of the popular Modern Manners Guy podcast on the Quick and Dirty Tips network (with 7 million podcast downloads, and counting!).
As Modern Manners Guy, his distinct voice stems from his colorful career history, which includes stints as a professional artist and a professional wrestler. Whether in the boardroom or in the wrestling ring, Richie has seen manners at their best and their most bizarre. Richie's outlook on modern manners is humorous, honest, and above all else, practical. He is routinely featured on FOX News, Huffington Post, Shape Magazine, FHM, Sharp Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Baltimore Sun, and many other media outlets.

Tonight Jason Lawrence and David Levins are going to talk about connection, and we are going to use the classic Joseph Campbell book The Hero With a Thousand Faces, as a springboard for this discussion. We'll talk about the book's theory on the stages of the monomyth, and how this relates to every human ever born; from ancient times to the modern day. We'll talk about some of the most important stages in any Hero's Journey, some fun references to modern stories and movies, and how the information in this book is so helpful to anyone considering writing a novel or memoir.
A Kind Voice has also launched a Kickstarter Project to create a free movie call in line.
Join us, Dr. Kim Bloomer and Dr. Jeannie Thomason, hosts of Animal Talk Naturally now for nearly nine years, we begin this new journey TOGETHER as we learn how our own feelings affect the health and well being of our animals. On our last show we talked about toxic thoughts creating toxic bodies. This week we'll segue into epigentics (above genes) otherwise known as gene expression. We are always being told that genetics determine our health, however modern science is proving that in fact the opposite! In fact our thoughts, diets and lifestyles (and of course that of our animals) can change the "expression" of our genes!!! Remember we are not scientists, we are animal naturopaths exploring this fascinating subject together with you.

Today I will be joined by Author Cate Montana. She wrote the wonderful book Unearthing Venus - My search for the woman within. This book really hits at the Heart of the problem. The male donminance of modern society. Where is the feminine energy and the caring? Cate was born in the post-war baby boom. Daughter and granddaughter of college-educated woman, she was steeped in the conservative values of 1950's upper-middle classs America. Cate later became a liberated woman. Beginning a career in broadcasting after college in 1973, she broke into the elite male bastion of sports television as a freelance editor within four years for NBC, ABC and CBS. By 1981 she was living the ulitmate vision of the second wave of feminist: fabulous career, gorgeous condo, an attentive lover and all the freedom in the world. But what she didn't know, and was soon to find out, was that being a successful woman didn't neccessarily mean being a success as a woman.
A long dark night of the soul followed the break-up of her second marriage. Then a chance encounter with a shaman changed everything. Challenged to plumb the depths of her own feminine nate, she began a quest that would take her from her comfortable home in rural Washington inthe the heart of the Amazon jungle, up the staggering peaks in the Andes, and halfway across the globe to the consecration of a temple to the Great Goddess in Southern India. Opening heart and mind, she surrendered to mysteries long unexplored and forgotten.... Join us today as we discuss the uncharted territories of the feminine soul, and travel from a conventional life to one of authenticity, deeper meaning, and ultimately the bliss of being alive.
