The Politics of Faith with Rodney Sadler

    in Politics Progressive

Host Dr. Rev. Rodney Sadler discusses Politics of Faith including progressive politics, American politics, culture, demographics, social justice, economic justice,  history, society, social change,  community action, community organization, and more!

Rev. Sadler is joined by Sam Wazan. Sam Wazan is the author of "The Last Moderate Muslim". Sam Wazan is a fifteen-year combat-zone survivor. He is an inspirational speaker, a grassroots catalyst for peace, and Global Trustee at United Religions Initiative. He is also a Senior Management Consultant helping multi-national organizations achieve breakthrough solutions and innovations.

Wazan has an authentic experience in the inhumane effects of conflicts. In his Key Note speech: Ending Religious Violence: The Journey to Peace, he reflects on his first year of war, when his best friend in fifth grade got killed. He grew up surrounded by remorseless sniper fire, indiscriminate rocket attacks, and vicious religious massacres. He escaped a kidnap attempt, lived under a ninety-day siege, and took shelter alternating between the stairways and a garage depot, depending on the intensity of battles.

In 2009, Wazan resigned from a prestigious corporate position. His searing drive to catalyze peace led him to write his personally inspired story and thrust him into public speaking.
Wazan is in high demand. He is a Key Note speaker at universities, corporations, and nonprofit organizations speaking on Limited Choices & High Stakes: Breaking through a Lesser Normal. He inspires audience members to embrace change, love life, and move from a continuous improvement frame of mind to achieving mental breakthroughs.

Ultra Conservative vs Moderate GOP - Which can take the White House?

    in Politics Conservative

As soon as you mention such names as Chris Cristie, Jeb Bush, Mitt Tomney and a few other possible Presidential candidates the word I hate spews from the mouth of the ultra conservative right....RINO!

There is a lot of speculations on who will be running on the Presidential Ballot, most of those mentioned could be classified as being a RINO.

The battle within the GOP does not seem to be about beating Hillary Clinton (she will run and get the Demo nomination) it is about how conservative are those who will actually become candidates to take on Clinton.

Today "In the Pickle Barrel" we'll explore this "situation" and see what you think...Can a Ultra conservative beat Clinton or will it take a more moderate (aka RINO) to take the White House?

See you at 8AM-10AM "In the Pickle Barrel"

    How Successful People Stay Calm

    in Business

The ability to manage your emotions and remain calm under pressure has a direct link to your performance. TalentSmart has conducted research with more than a million people, and we’ve found that 90% of top performers are skilled at managing their emotions in times of stress in order to remain calm and in control

.Research from the University of California, Berkeley, reveals an upside to experiencing moderate levels of stress. But it also reinforces how important it is to keep stress under control. The study, led by post-doctoral fellow Elizabeth Kirby, found that the onset of stress entices the brain into growing new cells responsible for improved memory. However, this effect is only seen when stress is intermittent. As soon as the stress continues beyond a few moments into a prolonged state, it suppresses the brain’s ability to develop new cells.

Besides increasing your risk of heart disease, depression, and obesity, stress decreases your cognitive performance. Fortunately, though, unless a lion is chasing you, the bulk of your stress is subjective and under your control. Top performers have well-honed coping strategies that they employ under stressful circumstances. This lowers their stress levels regardless of what’s happening in their environment, ensuring that the stress they experience is intermittent and not prolonged.

Slim Down A Double Chin With Kybella

    in Health

The ever increasing pace of aesthetic medical innovation recently saw another exciting new product added to the clinical 'toolkit'. Reducing a double-chin, or fat under the jawline, without surgery or liposuction has been difficult until now. Last week the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved a new injection therapy called Kybella (Kythera Biopharmaceuticals, Inc.) which was approved for the reduction of moderate to severe fat deposits under the chin.  The active ingredient in Kybella, deoxycholic acid, dissolves fat, allowing dermatologists and aesthetic surgeons to resculpt the chin area without surgery. Dr. Heidi Waldorf, an internationally respected expert in the field of noninvasive skin rejuvenation and dermatology, including the use of soft tissue augmentation, botulinum toxins, topical cosmeceuticals, lasers, and other devices, was a lead clinical investigator on Kybella leading to its approval. Dr. Waldorf is also Director of Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Associate Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai University and sees patients in Nanuet, New York, at Waldorf Dermatology & Laser Associates, and at Mount Sinai Hospital. Being involved as a lead clinical investigator with new products that may enable better patient results, and possibly even change and influence how certain procedures are performed, is an exciting part of any doctor's career. Listen to the Aesthetic Insider radio for a special glimpse into how Dr. Waldorf combines running a successful practice with important clinical investigation. To learn more call 845-623-7077 or 212-241-0472.
