Are we living in a post racial America? Some Americans believe that, yes, we are and that some individuals who seek attention continue to use race and racism as a means for getting it. While others believe that harmful systemic racism and subconscious bias persists and the only way to eliminate them for good is to shine a bright light on them.
In this Episode of Race Haven Scott Speed is joined by guests Denny Faircloth and Dr. Osvaldo Gaytan. Scott (African American from Philadelphia, PA) and Denny (European American from Augusta, Georgia) will dialogue about this topic from two very different perspectives. Dr. Osvaldo (Psychiatrist) will join them to provide the social behavioral context to this dialogue.

The television is bombarded with images of the injustice of African Americans in this country and while Lady Justice is sitting quietly, turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the continuous pain and unfair mistreatment of African Americans, it's clear that though others may not value the lives of our black youths--something has to be done!
Bishop McKinney addresses a lot of the concerns that surrounds the judicial system regarding black lives and what we need to do as a community and as a race of people to become economically ahead and not participate in destroying the lives of our fellow black sisters and brothers because it truly is a spiritual warfare! We must be ahead of the game and stop refusing to be last when everyone who is not of African descent has benefited off of the sweat and blood of our African ancestors. We must educate ourselves by putting down the video games and picking up a book. We must empower ourselves by being filled with the spirit of God so that he can direct our footsteps and we must not kill each other, leaving another heartbroken parent to carry the pain of grief because the life of her/his child was snuffed out.
Did Dr. Martin Luther King and so many march for nothing? Did Rosa Park refuse to sit in the back of the bus for no reason? Was Harriet Tubman's Underground Railroad in vain? But more importantly, does Black Lives Matter?

Tonight on Gay's PSA, I will have my colleague in the practice of law, Bryan Vonder Bruegge, on the air with me. Last week, I began a new series honoring Black History Month and this week, we are going to get a white man's perspective on the state of race relations and the progression and regression of applicable laws and policies in the United States.
at some point, you will have to care or be held responsible. I heard Sanders & Clinton stand-up meeting just this morning with Madame Secretary – and I didn’t even think of that till Sanders used it – ally herself to Pres Obama & his actions as Pres while Sanders catching Madame Secretary Clinton being sordid or cute or disrespectful. Trump promises not to use bad words - shows off children chanting Trump. Gov Christie and Ryan leave the Republican Race. I am not yelling, jus high-lighting: WHAT’S BECOME OF US. WE ARE IN Political QUICKSAND with an OUTDATED SYSTEM of Politics, CONTAIMINATED BY BIG MONEY SPRINKLED VERY HEAVILY with KNOWING LIES, KNOWINGFULL LIES of NOT GOING TO DO WHAT IS BEING INDIVIDUALLY SAID ON THE NUMEROUS STATE STUMPS, brought to you on TV. I am not on TV – can’t afford it. Once again, everyday, I try to reach you, teach you, make you aware of the BULLYING BULL that is BLOWN your way from the MOUTHS of these Political Presidential Candidates. The fact that they say these things make them irrev-erent & irresponsible. I am neither of these characteristics. I scream out to you every day. At some point in time you will need to hear me before it is beyond my time and ability to salvage our United States. The cure is so simple – no more ingestion of Political words & antics. Curb you sweet tooth for Political Parties OR ease your tooth pain with non-Political cream – cream of the crop, Curtis Clinton. I will clean out Government and every nook of sleaze, malaise, in-competence and thievery in our LAWS, INDUSTRIES, TRADE, EDUCATION & REFORM that goes nowhere. If you still don’t hear me or believe me, I hope the best 4U.
Are you ready for a MUTE-LESS Jay King? One who let's everyone BRING THE NOISE? It's like Stephanie Beard said, Jay was so adamant (ADAM ANT) about noise in the beginning, a lot of us have become sensitive to it. And why is it the same people? And he keeps saying he's trying to stop swearing. Remember in school - oh forgive me, you guys have cell phones now, and hand helds, so you probably don't remember playing those games if you said a bad word, you would get punched until you said the MAGIC WORD, and then the gang around you would stop punching you. I'm 65, so Jay at his tender young age, may not remember that - - - - Are you ready to throw down? And yes, this show ain't for everybody, but you may be the somebody this show is for - ALL HID? 347-205-9366.
Do you feel like people, of all races, are quick to pull the race card? Are Caucasians too sensitive when Blacks choose to celebrate their culture? Are Blacks too sensitive when Caucasians don't acknowledge them on a level that they acknowledge themselves? Will there ever be an equal playing field?
Join us, Thursday, February 11th at 10 PM, as we discuss these issues on Grown Folk Talk Radio.
Obstacle Course Racing is hot. Anyone that does an OCR event knows what I am talking about. Some say that they suffer from PRTSS (post-race traumatic stress syndrome), once the race is over, the buzz starts to ware off and the competitors begin to miss the race community they have come to love and respect.
Enter Obstacle Maniac, the brain child of Gary Borad and Craig Covington founders of the social site geared to promote post-race banter among the people who collectively understand this experience and want to talk about it beyond the race weekend. Sure, there are other sites that cover the goings on of the race favorites, the elites and pros of the sport but they get plenty enough coverage. Certainly, the familiar names and faces appear but they share the lime light with the mid packers who are proud of their efforts and are hungry for more chatter about all things OCR. If you are one of these folks and have been looking for a place to share your happiness post event, it would serve you well to visit http://www.obstaclemaniac.com
African Perspectives will discuss issues that affect Africans locally, nationally, and internationally.
We will look at these issues from an African World View. Using whatever resources that we need to help us understand the problems of our times. We will discuss what's happening with Africa and Africans an "African Perspective",
Please Join us every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EST, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CST, 9:00 am - 11:00 am MST, 8:00 am - 10:00 am, PST or access our archives 24/7
This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!

We'll also talk Cleveland and the rest of the Eastern Conference - can ANYONE challenge LeBron and his crew for that NBA Finals spot?
February is Black History month. As the month begins to move forward...I was recently asked a question of whether or not we are making in strides in expanding the knowledge base on Black History? Are we better or worse off than we have been in the past? Do we need to make changes...and, if so, what changes and how can they be made? With the current state of race relations in our society...is this even a feasible idea? If you have a perspective...call in and share!
