Heather Scott (www.repheatherscott.com), along with Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler and Washington State representative Matt Shea, came to the attention of Lost Arts radio recently when they stood up against the harassment of a man in her district by Veterans Administration agents who wanted to strip this citizen of his unalienable 2nd Amendment rights because he had suffered a stroke. This is part of the creeping infringement of 2nd Amendment rights by a government that wants to use any excuse possible to disarm American citizens, a step which historically always precedes much more serious tyranny and government crimes against the people. We get a chance on this week's show to find out first hand from Representative Heather Scott what it is really like when honest and courageous people get into government for the right reasons, and what it's really like on the inside.
On this show we also get a rare chance to speak with Sheriff Richard Mack (www.cspoa.org), on how he went from the beginning of his career in law enforcement, to a clear understanding of what needs to change in how that profession serves the people and honors its oath to the U.S. Constitution. Sheriff Mack shares with us how he came to start the great organization called the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (see all their videos on YouTube), and the inspirational work being done by CSPOA members all over America. All of us are needed to support this great effort at turning America back to an actual land of freedom and honor. If you haven't had the privilege of hearing Sheriff Mack talk yet, you are in for a treat with this show. If you have heard him, you know how inspirational his historical commentary and his insights can be on the real function of law enforcement (listen to what he says regarding "stupid laws"), so you know what a great show this is going to be.
True origin and history of the martial arts with GRAND MASTER Terryl Richardson
It is common place for people to say that martial arts originated in the far east (China, Japan). On occasion, I have heard people come close to the correct point of origin by saying Greece. With that I asked myself, “If it is true that every culture that had a need for any army had a form of martial arts, then why would it not be logical that martial arts originated where MAN originated?” I have come to learn that martial arts hieroglyphics appeared on the walls of Egyptian tombs 3,400 years B.C., before the arts arose in China and Japan. These hieroglyphics are found on the ancient temple of Karnak in Egypt. Every nation, or “tribe” in Africa has its own complex and complete martial arts styles and these styles can be seen all over the world.
There are many people who would argue that Greece contains the oldest records of combative arts such as wrestling, boxing, and Pankration. The Greeks began the practice of wrestling around 776 B.C. By that time Egypt was already ancient. It is known to scholars that the name Greece derives from an ancient name for Africa, “Nigrecia”. Present day scholars of what is commonly known as Greco-Roman wrestling attribute the origins of their sport to illustrations discovered on the walls of tombs at a region of ancient Egypt called Mahez, which has been renamed “Beni Hasan”, or “hill of the son of the Hasan family”. At Beni Hasan, in four separate tombs, there are hundreds of paintings on limestone walls that for the most part, have since decayed.
I will discuss fiber arts. We will talk about hand dyed yarns, combed tops, rovings, locks, hand spun yarns, unique handmade batts, nuno felting, and other fiber art projects. I will also be discussing my relaunch of EIM Inspired Fibers and how that affects the community at large as well as myself. Please tune in!

On a single night in January 2014, 578,424 people were experiencing homelessness — meaning they were sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or transitional housing program. From 2013 to 2014, a period of ongoing recovery from the Great Recession, overall homelessness decreased by 2.3 percent and homelessness decreased among every major subpopulation: unsheltered persons (10 percent), families (2.7 percent), chronically homeless individuals (2.5 percent), and veterans (10.5 percent).
34 states had decrease in overall homelessness, while 17 states saw increases. 40 states had decreases in the number of people living in unsheltered locations, including the street, cars, and abandoned buildings.
The national rate of homelessness fell to 18.3 homeless people per 10,000 people in the general population, but the rate in individual states ranged from 120 in Washington, D.C. to 7 in Mississippi.
The rate of veteran homelessness continued its descent of the past several years to 25.5 homeless veterans per 10,000 veterans in the general population, but the rate in individual states ranged from 146 in Washington, D.C. to 9 in Virginia.
The majority of states had decreases in every major subpopulation: family homelessness (32 states), chronically homeless individuals (27 states), and veteran homelessness (28 states).
