    DISPATCHES FROM WEIMAR AMERICA

    in Politics

Taken with gratitude from Unwelcome Guests #703  We begin with the soundtrack of a short RT interview of Mark Crispin Miller about Project Censored's "forbidden bookshelf" project of republishing in electronic form books which the authorities have tried to suppress. He introduces his the first 5 books, starting with Douglas Valentine's The Phoenix Program: America’s Use of Terror in Vietnam, echoing ideas from episode 693. Our next piece is an interview of Professor Alfred McCoy by Jeff Blankfort. McCoy explains the extent of the surveillance systems currently underway, which far exceeds the Snowden disclosures. Our second hour concludes with a short interview of Naomi Wolf, author of The End of America, who slightly softens her skepticism of Snowden's whistleblower status. However, Wolf reminds us that there has been minimal independent verification of his story, and the commercially-controlled media of western 'democracies' continues to trumpet his 'revelations', ... Next we hear a panel discussion of Heidi Boghosian, the author of "Spying on Democracy", followed by a customarily outspoken Chris Hedges who provides a personal reflection on the psychology of the super-rich, drawing from his experience as a student from a lower working class background who attended a school for the upper class. To underline the implications of Hedges' discussion of an unaccountable and amoral power, we present a radio adaptation of "The Strange Case of Phillip Marshall", a video broadcast on PressTV, f ... We conclude this week with a historical parallel from Heidi Boghosian, who notes that public outrage about mass surveillance was sufficient to force the US executive to desist ... but not permanently. Thanks to TUC Radio for the Alfred McCoy interview.

Groundwork: "More Than Conquerors and Spiritual Warfare"

    in The Bible

Only those who have been trained and made ready by God can lead and advance forward His Army into new spiritual territory. -Today this army would be His Church as one voice and mind in Christ.  New territory might be depths of God's Word yet to be discovered with teaching and training in righteousness. In order to do this effictively and with as minimal loss of casualty as possible (divisions, confusion, fears, etc.), some serious groundwork must take place, and in this groundwork is recognizing just how devistating it is when we do it our own way.  While studying Judges chapters 17 and 18, Micah's song if he lived today might be:  "I did it my way." As I began to put this message together for two solid days or more, researshing and studying as I did not want to produce a message on this subject matter that listeners have heard many times before, or a message my skeptic listeners might get board with, I knew these Judges chapters were perfect for a Part One of "Spiritual Warfare."  These chapters are a vivid picture of the disaster that can happen when people do not do it God's Way.  What better way to prepare an individual,  a family or a church body, than to cringe and squirm a little as we see what happens when we leave God out of the picture. These two chapters reveal what people do when we do it "our way" and what becoming "More than Conquerors" in Chirst Jesus is not, and never will be.

Get your pens and paper ready as I know you are going to enjoy the show today. It is loaded with a wealth of life-changing insight.

CLEVER BLACK STEPS TO THE PLATFORM AND BRINGS IT!

    in Books

Clever Black was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in March of 1973. He and his immediate family left New Orleans on August 28, 2005 to escape hurricane Katrina and they’ve never returned to the city except for the occasional visit. Clever Black and his family now call Charlotte, North Carolina home.

The first book published in the saga, titled The Holland Family Saga Part One: They Don’t Mind Dying, was released in March of 2012 and is enjoying minimal success. Seven subsequent novels in the series soon followed; the latest release in the on-going epic saga, titled Definition of a Boss, was released in July of 2014.

In less than two years, Author Clever Black has released nine full-length novels under his own publishing company, Clever Black Books, LLC. In February of 2014, he signed with Write House Publishing and launched a new series titled Outlaw Chics, and now has a total of ten novels under his belt.

The Author’s work doesn’t stop there, however; Clever Black has a bi-monthly column in Urban Grapevine Magazine, a digital magazine that caters to Urban Fiction, titled Publishing, Politicking and People. His first article was published inside the magazine in May of 2014.

This is fiction at its best. Real life tales played out within the pages of novels that will have readers yearning for more. The Holland Family Saga is a great American story for all lovers of fiction. Implicit has an ending that is forcing readers to read the book twice. Outlaw Chics is a story unique to the Urban Genre and his main body of work.

Facebook:/Clever Black and on Twitter @cleverblack. His works are available in eBook format and paperback on Amazon, and in e-book format on Barnes and Nobles, with Outlaw Chics being exclusively published in Kindle format only.

What Has the UK Figured Out About BIRTH that the US Has Not?

    in Religion

Birth in the US has become very misunderstood.  We used to think that birth was something that happened naturally, that women could do it (they were made to do it), and the need for doctors and medical interventions was minimal at best.  Families had control over their birthing environment (because it was usually their home), and birth was something to look forward to without fear.  Now, in the US, hospitals have become the norm and doctors and lawyers are controlling where and how you are allowed to birth.  Fear and greed has taken over the birthing industry (yes, it’s become an industry), and families are suffering for it.  The UK, however, has realized that the best place to have a baby is not necessarily in the hospital.  Listen to this very important show as Dr Pauline  and Catherine discuss a NY Times article about how birth professionals in the UK are advising mothers that home birth can be as safe or safer than giving birth in the hospital.  As always, we welcome your comments and questions through Facebook (Dunamas Center Ministries), and Twitter (@YourDunamasLife).
