'Generation No More' is bringing Million March Against Child Abuse, St. Louis March 2013 back with us tonight.
Ms. Tonia Hopper, along with a few of the other amazing advocates and parents who I will be joining at the march today, will be with us tonight on the radio.
Tonight we bring today's HISTORY MAKING EVENT to you with all of the highlights from today's march. Please be sure to take part wherever possible and let our kids know we are in it to protect them. This is a NATIONWIDE EVENT, please search out a march close to you and give your voice in this peaceful demonstration.
The march is bringing the focus of tougher sentencing for the monsters and pedophiles, predetors and others, who are given more rights than our children in our justice system. Those who seem to keep offending, but retain custody of their children or are still given access to others. What about those who kidnap and murder our children, but are not always met with the strictest punishments possible? This is what this march represents and we'll chat about it live tonight. Please share and encourage others to join in with us. It is one for the record books tonight so let's give it our all today!!! Join in by calling 347-215-7754 or join our chat room live. Your VOICE matters!!
Please get your copy of 'My Justice' today through most online book resources. Also visit our website and share your thoughts on our chat forum page of Generation No More!! We need you in this fight to protect all children. Thank you

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "Child Abuse, Trauma and 12-Step Recovery" - STEP 1 (and we'll include a bit about TRADITION 1) - SCAN host Bill Murray will be joined by special guest co-host Rivka Edery, MSW, LCSW, from NYC, author of the book “Trauma and Transformation: A 12-Step Guide." Bill founded the recently launched Adult Survivors of Child Abuse Anonymous (ASCAA). Together they will lead tonight's discussion on STEP 1: "We admitted we were powerless over the abuse and trauma of our youth -- that our lives had become unmanageable." The survivor's decision to begin a process of healing begins with the admission of what happened to them. This involves working through the defenses employed to shun from consciousness the excruciatingly painful memories of the traumatic events. Having passed through this phase of remembering (in any way possible), the acceptance of the truth of the traumatic experience moves the survivor towards resolution. Thus begins the creation of an internal, healing space for the survivor to feel what remained frozen in time, banished and unwelcome in consciousness. ~~ A child abuse survivor herself, Rivka Edery is grateful for the spiritual recovery she found in the 12 Steps of AA. She's been active in the 12 Step community for over 17 years. Bill Murray credits his 30 plus years of recovery to the spiritual power of the 12 Step program, too. ~~ Join us every two weeks to further examine a 12 Step approach to recovery from abuse. Next show we'll address STEP 2 & TRADITION 2. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/Trauma-12Step or write to Rivka at: firstname.lastname@example.org

Tonight's special guest is Polly Moore from Atlanta, Georgia, a returning NAASCA family member. Polly is the Executive Administrative Assistant of Angela Williams, Founder of VOICE Today, a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle and silence of child sexual abuse through awareness, prevention, and healing programs. She began volunteering with VOICE Today on July 17, 2012, the day after she broke her silence. She'd found her voice at VOICE Today's support group the night before. Polly grew up with six siblings in Mobile, Alabama, but was only 8 years old when her father died of lung cancer. Soon two neighborhood boys began to molest her, friends of her older twin brothers. A couple of years later she was assaulted by another neighbor and later by her older brother. She was able to break away from the abuse at the age of twelve, but was by then deep in the darkness of isolation. Polly is now a mother and grandmother, and has lived in Atlanta for the past 15 years. She is contemplating returning to finish her final year at Western Carolina University where she majored in Accounting, and has become a devoted advocate for adult survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. Polly says she will forever continue to help fellow adult survivors find their voice and welcome their healing through the working of Angela Williams and VOICE Today.

Deadbeat parents are those who have been ordered by the Family law courts to pay child support monies of an unspecified amount, to the custodial parent (One who has custody of the child), but he/she is refusing to follow the order. Even when they have the financial means to do so. Question, Are you a custodial parent who's dealing with this problem in your life? Do he/she have the financial means of providing for their child/children, but still refuse to do so? Or are you a listener who would like to weigh in on this heated topic?... Well, the queens would love the opportunity to hear your story, or get your feedback, right here in the playhouse!!! "See you there"!!!!

Elder financial abuse is being called the fastest growing area of crime in America. And it may be happening in your family, if you aren't paying attention to a caregiver -- or a relative -- who, under the guise of being helpful, is syphoning off an elderly person's life savings.
This issue no doubt affects seniors across all socio-economic groups, cultures and races. It is a major problem that is expected to grow dramatically with the aging of our population. We are delighted and honored to be joined by Carolyn Rosenblatt, an expert on the topic, to help us protect our parents or loved ones as well as equip us with tools to spot the red flags that exploitation is happening.
Stay tuned for fresh and insightful ideas on what it means to age with dignity and live your best life as an elder or caregiver today. Life is a Sacred Journey airs Thursdays at 5pm PDT.
Today we will discuss a hot button topic that is raging across our world!
Rule of thumb: Don't bet against LeBron James.
Yes, the Golden State Waqrriors have three players who can defend him: Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala.
Yes, the Golden State Warriors have the reigning MVP in Stephen Curry.
Yes, the Warriors are healthier.
Yes, the Warriors have home court advantage, having lost only three times all season at Oracle Arena.
But does anybody out there really want to state that Stephen Curry is a better all-around player than LeBron James?
Does anybody out there have any doubts about LeBron's confidence level? Or his drive? Or the zeal behind the quest he is on -- to bring Cleveland its first professionsl sports championship in any sport since 1964?
The Golden State Warriors are damn good. I have them winning three games in the NBA Finals.
But I have the Cavs winning four games, including Game 7 on the road, as I told Brandon Tierney and Tiki Barber of CBS Sports Radio in this interview.
