Leah Albright-Byrd Executive Director & Founder of Bridget's Dream. We discuss her passion to combat and help victims of sexual exploitation.
A nationally known survivor-activist, consultant and trainer in the fight against child sex-trafficking. Her strong voice and unwavering commitment to “help victims become survivors and learn to dream again” inspires people to wage war against social injustice.
"The sex-trafficking of children and youth in the United States CAN BE PREVENTED! Together, we must educate, empower, and equip our youth so that they never experience the ravishing effects of sex-trafficking. This is how we prevent!"
"Direct intervention in the lives of those who have been commercially sexually exploited is the first step towards healing & transformation. We reach victims directly and provide crisis care to those looking to escape. This is how we INTERVENE!"
Restoration is a long-term journey that requires discovery of meaning and purpose beyond the ravishing effects of the trauma inflicted through exploitation. Survivors need loving trauma-informed care so that they can experience healing!

She first learned to ride a bicycle at age 4 and has been riding most of her life. In 2010, she participated in her first Tour de Cure event, riding the 32K in Silcon Valley. She has since ridden in the Napa Tour de Cure twice (50 and 100 miles) and rode in the very first Tour de Cure Women's Series event in Santa Barbara in 2013 completing the 67 mile course. This event catapulted her love for cycling to new heights, converting her into a true roadie and soon to be competitive cyclist.

Sharon also has several friends who live with type 1 diabetes. It is her hope that helping to raise awareness about the work of the American Diabetes Association will aid in their gaining access to more resources toward developing a cure.
