Interview with Hip-Hop Lyricist Jay Buggs @JayBuggs on Twitter

    in Music

    Artist Bio

James W. Harrison Jr professionally known as Jay Buggs, was born and raised in New York, NY when the streets was lawless. The attitude was I don't give a f*ck. I started putting pen to paper instead of expressing myself through graffiti or break dancing. I released the stress of being angry and hard headed through poetry. All the violence, sexual experience, death and good times combine to form the course of my life on paper. I share my pain, laughter, triumphs and defeats for the world to witness.

There is a new chapter in 2016 for my music career, my Music Business Partner is ASCAP Music Publisher Yvonne Wilcox and my Music is Digitally Distributed by Mildred Davis Independent Label in Houston, TX

My plans for the near future is to get a Major Label Deal from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group or Warner Music Group because I have the Fire Lyrics that can bring back the Business side of the Music Business.

Episode #6: Understanding How to Hold Space for Yourself and Others

Heather Plett wrote a beautiful piece about holding space called What it means to 'hold space' for people, plus eight tips on how to do it well.  It was sensationally popular with far reaching impact because it was honest, true, insightful … and straight from the heart.

In this episode, Mildred Lynn McDonald and Madonna MacInnis will skillfully build on the universal concept of holding space by exploring four key attributes: 1. Letting go of judgement 2. Opening your heart. 3. Allowing another to have whatever experience that are having in the moment. 4. Giving your complete undivided attention to the situation or other person.  In addition, they will generously share their personal thoughts, foibles and learnings about the art and decipline of “holding space”.  You’ll love it!

Bonus! If you are interested in listening to a one-hour podcast of Heather Plett talking about Holding Space, please check out Healing Conversations with Mildred Lynn  (Episode 33).

Mildred Ehrenfeld Nightingale Management meeting clients where clients meet

    in Motivation

Healthcare providers in the United States are faced with one of our nation’s greatest challenges. Despite spending twice as much as other industrialized countries, our outcomes remain average and our healthcare delivery system more often provides “ill care” as opposed to “health care”.

Conceived and developed a healthcare model to provide primary care by nurse practitioners with a focus on prevention. This model will be replicated in retail settings throughout the state of New York. The purpose of these centers is to improve patient options while making health care affordable and easily accessible to all community members.

WRNL We Still Booze #5: Come to Ames, it ain't Texas!

    in Sports

Matt (CYHusker) stops by to discuss the running list of candidates he's tracking on WRNL to replace Paul Rhoads as the next head football coach at Iowa State. Some members of the WRNL crew call in to give there takes and we also take some fan phone calls to get some fan perspective from members of Cyclone Nation.

Al continues to rip on western Iowa, Sean lobbies for the quadruple option, Dan has some scalding hot takes on the Brady Hoke rumors, Matt comes up with a real trophy for the "Heroes Game", and the crew offers an explanation as to why Nick Saban is a better fit at Iowa State than Texas. As I'm sure you could predict, this whole conversation devolves into a fast food discussion by the end of it.

Episode #5: Are you a Scanner?

In her book, Refuse to Choose award-winning author Barbara Sher talks about “scanners”; people who have so many interests that they’re unable to choose only one. According to Sher, scanners aren’t dilettantes or undisciplined, and they don’t change interests because of A.D.D. or a fear of success. “They seem to be highly intelligent, multi-talented people who need to have more interests than the average person.” As you can imagine, this topic really hit a nerve with people when the book was published and caused a huge sigh of relief from many wonderful individuals struggling to make sense if their scanner-wired life (gasp!).

Join your hosts, Mildred Lynn and Madonna MacInnis as they share their personal insights and real life stories about the amazing world of scanners (or to use another term “multi-potential-ites”).  You’ll also enjoy their heart-centered exploration of three key questions: "What is a scanner?", "What isn’t a scanner?”,  and "How do you navigate life (feel good about yourself) from a scanner perspective?”. You’ll love it!

Episode #1: Lead with Your Heart and Your Life will Follow

At some point along life's journey, most people wake up and ask themselves "Am I following my heart or leading with my head?"  The answer might be quite startling for some and comforting for others. In this episode, we'll explore this question as it relates to how you can get yourself to a place that nourishes your soul; a sweet spot where the inner voice leads and external voices are muted (or at least put in proper perspective).

We'll also discuss how to acheive balance between the heart and head, how it feels to follow your heart, how it feels to not follow your heart, plus share our personal experiences.  Tips, tools and resources that helped us navigate our way when faced with the choice of listening to our heart or staying in our head (gasp!) will also be offered, for your consideration.
