Recently, I had the good fortune to sit down with DR PAULA CREIGHTON, MD, FRCPC in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Dr. Creighton, who specializes in the field of aging or Geriatrics, has a tremendous amount of information to share, on both a professional and personal level, that may alter (in a good way) the way you perceive the aging process.
Although aging is a natural part of the human life cycle, many of us shy away from accessing the expertise and support we need to ensure that our “golden years” (or our parent’s golden years) are fulfilling, healthy, balanced and rewarding. These resources may include invaluable diagnostics, key medical advances, coordination of services, and meaningful community connection.
After talking with Dr. Creighton, I had two flashes of inspiration: First, “I want to learn more.” and second, “Wow, this would be fantastic information for our listeners.” So, get ready for a empowering conversation about AGING WELL that flows straight from the spirit and into the heart. Thank you Dr. Creighton for doing this work!

Billy Howard does grass roots rescue with his Alabama Angels Dog Rescue Inc. Billy goes through an estimated 70 lbs. of dog food PER DAY. He receives no help other than his meager pension every month, which he gladly spends to feed, vet, spay/neuter and microchip his dogs. He just recently got his 501c3 designation as a non-profit charitable organization, which hopefully will open doors for his rescue to receive much needed assistance. His is a rescue in extremely rural Alabama, where the average income per person is so small that he cannot get a lot of financial support from his neighbors. Billy keeps all his dogs in a free roaming fenced yard and his home, and he is also a dog fighting investigator. And while his resources are stretched thin, he knows his limitations. Learn about all the great work he does and what rescue is supposed to be. http://www.alabamaangelsdogrescue.com/

Mildred D. Muhammad is a sincere, thoughtful, and spiritual person. She wanted nothing more than to build a strong family unit in which she would be a good wife and mother.
But when her first husband -- John Allen Muhammad -- “turned” on her, Mildred knew she had to protect herself and her family.
When he emptied out their bank accounts, kidnapped their children, and disappeared, she had to learn to navigate the legal system, all while making sure that he did not find her. She had no money, no job, and she was living in a shelter for abused women when she began her uphill battle to find her children.
