Here we are, a good few days removed from Carl Froch giving George Groves the old "push and a pull" treatment. We've had a nice little string of fights, and the huge KO by Froch over Groves was the decisive ending that many were hoping for. There was also the unusual and suspect-looking stoppage of the Nonito Donaire vs Simpiwe Vetyeka fight to complain about and make fun of, which should come naturally to Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry-Rules. Also to be tackled, Sergio Martinez's attempt to defend the middleweight title against Miguel Cotto this weekend, plus somewhat tragic undercard. Thanks for tuning in!
This is a special edition of Tale of the Tape on Sports Rant Radio as we will be broadcasting live from the scene of Miguel Cotto vs. Sergio Martinez in New York City. We will give you in-depth coverage of the middleweight championship of the world, live from Madison Square Garden.
We will also talk about Floyd Mayweather's decision to leave Golden Boy Promotions and look forward to great fights that lay ahead this summer.
Every once in a while, we as boxing fans are reminded that "that's why they get in there and actually fight." Sometimes match ups sound absurd or likely one-sided, and because of that we lose sight of the old, throw away phrase that, in boxing, "anything is possible." This past weekend, Miguel Cotto usurped the middleweight throne with no fistic regrets, grinding Sergio Martinez to dust, and making approximately 3/4 of the boxing community look stupid in the meantime. What does it mean? Was Sergio Martinez shot? Was Miguel Cotto underrated? Has anyone ever actually beaten Tetris? What was in Marsellus Wallace's suitcase, damnit??? Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules will attempt to answer at least a few of those questions. This week, the asinine aphrodisiacs are joined by Eric Raskin, boxing contributor to ESPN, HBO and Grantland, and author of The Moneymaker Effect. Also, check out Raskin's podcast with William Dettloff, Ring Theory. Also on the menu, a preview of Ruslan Provodnikov vs Chris Algieri. Thanks for tuning in!

Thaboxingvoice will recap last nights events including, but not limited to, the junior middleweight showdown between Austin Trout and Miguel Cotto. After last night, some questions were answered in regards to the class of fight Trout is and will be. As for Cotto, he may be a lot closer to the end of the road than we all expected. Of course, it wouldn't be boxing without some controversy and that was provided by some lopsided scorecards turned in by the judges and although Trout deserved the win he didn't win it in the fashion he was awarded.
Also, we'll be talking about Joan Guzman's loss, David Price's Friday bout and Tyson Fury's Saturday bout. We will also discuss Paul Spadafora's win last night and the implications it could have on the surrounding divisions.
Today we'll be talking about Amir Khan vs Chris Algieri on June 6th, Miguel Cotto vs Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto vs Jorge Sebastian Heiland and Canelo Alvarez vs James Kirkland. We'll be beginning, "This Day in The Sweet Science". Lastly, Fight Predictions.
