I have spent the past two years -- off and on -- teaching Shakespeare to adjudicated youth here in the city of Detroit. I don't talk much about it, so I thought I would share a little bit about what has been an incredible experience.
My students are amazing! We just finished our latest semester last weekend. This semester was different than previous semesters as my life has become more intentional in the past 18 months. I know my purpose. I always knew I wanted to share my art, but I didn't know exactly what that art looked like. I have been a writer. I have been an actor. I have been a comedian. Finding Shakespeare in Detroit has changed every aspect of my life. And, so, this semester it was very important for me to know and feel that I was making a real impact as a teacher. Sometimes, evidence of your success doesn't come in the form of some loud, elaborate declaration. There are times, when figuring out if you are doing the right thing or not can be as quiet and subtle as a fist bump.
I hope you'll check out the latest episode of Detroit Meets the Bard!

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will discuss the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions. The winner will claim the NFC North Division title, and host a playoff game. The Green Bay Packers could possibly clinch home field advantage, with some help. However, is the division title necessary?
The NFC North has been in existence, for 12 years. No division winner has won the Super Bowl, and only the 2006 Chicago Bears went, to the Super Bowl. Since winning the Super Bowl, in 1996, the Green Bay Packers have won eight division titles. The only time they went back to the Super Bowl, was the following year in 2007. Therefore, the last seven times they won the division, the have been eliminated; from the playoffs, before making the Super Bowl.
One of the Packers four losses, has been to the Detroit Lions. The defense played well, and a sluggish offense allowed more point, than they scored. A fumble return for a touchdown, and a safety accounted for nine of the Lions 19 points. The defense held Matthew Stafford, without a touchdown pass, and forced two interceptions. However, Aaron Rodgers was held to 162 yards passing, and was sacked two times. Listen in and call the show.
On this special Christmas edition of Detroit Unplugged, We are going to switch directions and play music for the entire broadcast. We will be back live in 2015. On this show there will be no interviews,no call ins, just music. Merry Christmas from all of us at Michigan United Broadcast
Divorce is rampant among society today. In fact, more than 50% of marriages end in divorce. Within its wake, divorce affects all member of the family unit from husband, wife, in-laws, and children. However, this is the norm. Statistically speaking, most marriages end from the two to seven year mark. The days of marriages lasting for more than that seem to be gone.
For the Christian man or woman, divorce is something that God hates. No if, ands, or buts about it. The Bible is very clear on this issue. In fact, Jesus condemned those who divorced their wives because marriage is for a lifetime. When we say our vows, we tend to say, "For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health...till death do we part." We stand in front of the preacher and made this vow before God and our loved ones (or witnesses for those of us who eloped) and truly and sincerely make this pledge.
But what happens when the relationship falls into the worse category? What if circumstances have us re-thinking if this person who I have pledged myself to is the person I was to marry? When the situation gets dangerous or critical, one begins to wonder...if God hates divorce, then what does that mean for my happiness? The vows we make began to shake. The idea of a long, lasting marriage grows dimmer by the day or the year. Divorce looms, not like an avenging dark angel...but like a beacon of light.
If God hates divorce, and we know He does, how can we say God shouts freedom in divorce?

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Rant, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec stay away from a rant, and turn their attention to week 17, of the NFL. There are four divsion titles on the line. We start in the AFC, the Sunday night game, is for all the marbles, in the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers will battle to see who will host a playoff game. Both teams have clinched a playoff berth with 10 wins. Although, all other divisions are claimed, the AFC still has one playoff sport remaining. Currently, the San Diego Chargers control their own destiny. A Chargers win over Kansas City Chiefs, will put them in the playoffs. A Chargers loss, could open the door for the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, or Kansas City Chiefs.
All of the NFC playoff berths are locked. However, there are three division titles on the line. The high powered NFC South (Ok, just a bit sarcastic) has the Atlanta Falcons (6-9) battling the Carolina Panthers (6-8-1). A team under .500 will host a first round playoff game, next weekend. The NFC West has the two 11-4 teams battling for the Division Title and possible first round bye. The loser of the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks game, will have to go on the road, as a wildcard team. Finally, the NFC North, is in the same situation, the loser of the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, will travel next weekend.
What games are you most interested in watching? What teams will claim their division title? Listen in or call the show with your thoughts!

Jim Williams sounds off BIG TIME on the Philadelphia Eagles right at the start of Wednesday’s Inside the War Nest program . . . before bringing in their special guest from TheGiantsBeat.com, David Aitken to chat about a meaningless final game against the New York Giants.
There are so many confusing and perhaps ridiculous playoff scenarios floating as we enter the final regular season week of the NFL . . . and we start it off with Frat House Mike and Brandon seemingly keeping it straight on Tuesday’s Red Zone Blitz program chatting about the final Wild Card in the AFC and the ridiculous NFC South!
Finally, we couldn’t close the regular season without another “4 Minutes of Football” starring Rex Ryan, the Thugs-of-the-NFL, and Kurt Warner. And, don’t forget our Picks-of-the-Week with an extra gift in the mix: Cleveland Browns – Baltimore Ravens / Carolina Panthers – Atlanta Falcons / Detroit Lions – Green Bay Packers / St. Louis Rams – Seattle Seahawks / Cincinnati Bengals – Pittsburgh Steelers.

And, since we’re talking football . . . let’s take a look at the “State of the NFL QB.” There seems to be a lot of bad ones. Is this a lack of coaching? Schemes too complicated? Or, are young quarterbacks just rushed into the game too soon? What happens next year to Jay Cutler, Brian Hoyer, Colt McCoy, Ryan Mallett, Michael Vick . . . Johnny Football?
Topics then change to the left coast and Roger Goodell’s announcement that there will be no football in L.A next season, and what of Tony Sparano? Should he be the Raiders permanent head coach?
We've got "4 Minutes of Football" . . . AND, the final picks of the season in some of the most important games: Cleveland Browns – Baltimore Ravens / Carolina Panthers – Atlanta Falcons / Detroit Lions – Green Bay Packers / St. Louis Rams – Seattle Seahawks / Cincinnati Bengals – Pittsburgh Steelers.
