Commentary by Michelle Edmonds, Life and Wellness Coach and Serenity Radio Network (SRN) owner:
It's amazing how often we say, "Love conquers all, yet when the money gets funny, the first thing to go is the love! To be honest and to talk real, even sex goes, when the money is not right. Then why do so many of us leave our finances to chance and not make it our business to get even basic financial information?
According to the list attached to the following link, Finances is the # 7 reason for Divorce. http://www.top10stop.com/lifestyle/top-10-reasons-for-divorce-and-marriage-breakdowns-stats-from-the-us A quick Google search, however, will list Finances as the #1 reason, followed by infidelity and poor communication.
In my practice as a counseling psychologist, Life, and Wellness coach, I see Finances, Infidelity, and communication, in that order. Does not matter who's stats you use, there is no question that too many of us have raggedy finances and basic financial education is needed.

Happy New Year from Chrita and Cryss! What an exciting year of topics we have planned- topics that affect our everyday life. With that in mind, we've decided to start the year off by making January the month of ALL THINGS FINANCE! Starting off the month is fiscal responsibility, via investments, the trending every day "money-saving challenges", emergency funds and life insurances, etc.
Given our current fiscal climate, this conversation has become essential, and it is imperative that we improve our financial health, while educating generations to come. So join us to disscuss how we're going to make 2016 the best financial year ever. Please call us at (646) 668-262; 7-7:30 p.m. News and Sports, and then we take the plunge into our topic. We'll be waiting. Oh, don't forget the No Tea challenge, bring a friend.
As the Kwanzaa season winds down, we look at the influence of our collectie withholding of consumer dollars and our spending during the Kwanzaa celebrations, hopefully giving vendors who support positive community development the benefit of our patronage. This was a year of economic flexing muscles, shutting down shopping on Michigan Avenue, and having a major impact on Black Friday. Will boycotting continue to be used as a weapon to put pressure on elected officials to remove certain people from positions of authority? What about readiness to take over bueinssess in major shopping centers? Are famiies in communities ready to pool their money to cooperatively own th places where they shop? What shows about business inspired you this year and what would you like to see us address next year? Robert Moore of United For Better Communities discusses strategies for unified efforts for economic empowerment.
This is a six book series under the label of Masterful Leadership. The second book in the series is entitled “TEAM: Your Proven Strategy Guide to Masterful Leadership” is due out in early February. Given that people are very busy with life, I believe creating “short reads” allow a person to pick up a book, gain insights, tips, and tools while having a sense of accomplishment.
Book Summary/description: If you ever reported to a micromanager, you know how frustrating, confidence-shaking and demoralizing it can be. This type of manager may cause you to question your own skills and abilities. Your first thought may be to leave that environment and job, but in this book I encourage you to explore the situation from both sides of the equation and work through the experience to develop a clear cut plan. Let’s explore the root cause from both the individual contributor perspective as well as the management perspective and systematically walk through the available options and possible opportunities for decisions.
Start by understanding what causes someone to act this way. Often it’s a need for control that stems from insecurity and lack of maturity. Some micromanagers lack confidence, workplace uncertainty, and pressure to perform at levels beyond their abilities and are generally in need of coaching and mentoring. Many of us have the propensity to be a micromanager, but some of us reign it in better than others or have learned from our past mistakes. In this book, I will reveal secrets and strategies of working with a micromanager and how to not be a micromanager.
