I will be discussing Michael Sam becoming the first openly gay athlete to be drafted in the NFL Draft with 49ers fan/'Bama fanatic Sedrick Hall. Among the topics: did Sam get drafted because of the positive PR ramifications? Did he fall in the draft because of his sexuality? Is the media - namely ESPN - beating the hell out of this dead horse? Also, is Oprah Winfrey-created OWN's documentary on Sam be a huge distraction?
Robert Brewer aka "Football Rob" weighs in on the controversial statements made by former Super Bowl champion head coach Tony Dungy towards St. Louis Rams defensive end Michael Sam. According to Tampa Tribune reporter Ira Kaufman, Dungy stated that he would not have drafted Michael Sam due to the distraction he may cause to a team because of his sexual orientation. Dungy later released a statement to further clarify his comments.
Frequent guest contributor Gary "Kool" Ayd of MediaAidEntertainment.com also stops by to discuss this touchy situation.

The St. Louis Rams knew a media circus was coming when they drafted Michael Sam, but they didn't expect it to escalate so quickly or be jump started by Tony Dungy. Sports Page host Pat Whitehurst is joined by Scott Poppen and Stephen Sheehan to discuss the prospect of Sam making the Rams and the roles the media plays in causing these distractions.
Fantasy football draft strategies along with value picks and potential busts will also be discussed. Join the conversation and Be Seen, Be Heard, Be a Fan!
The NFL season kicks off Thursday, and we'll take a look at the teams we think are on the rise and which are headed for a decline. There are some great storylines to watch as the season approaches - we'll hit on some of them.
Plus, it was a big week for Michael Sam. Yet with the NFL season finally underway, Sam's story will take a backseat until he makes the Dallas Cowboys' active roster and plays in a game. After months of intense scrutiny, it will probably be a good break for Sam to play in the background of the NFL for a while.

I will be discussing and analyzing Tony Dungy's comments concerning Michael Sam. He said he wouldn't have drafted Sam basically because of the distraction of having an openly gay player in the locker room. He also does not think the St. Louis Rams are ready for that media storm for employing a gay player. Chris Loupe and The Yard/HBCU Sports' Duane Nash will join me in discussing Dungy's thinking in making those comments. Does Dungy have a point or was he merely being homophobic?
The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview former NFL Player Wade Davis. Wade will discuss when he announced he was gay, what he does now, and Michael Sam.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Davis grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and Aurora, Colorado. He played college football at Mesa State and Weber State. In 2000, Davis signed with the Tennessee Titans of the NFL as an undrafted free agent but was cut after the preseason. Davis made his professional debut in 2001 with the NFL Europe team Berlin Thunder and won the World Bowl IX title with the Thunder. After spending the 2001 preseason with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, Davis again played the 2002 regular season in the NFL Europe with the Barcelona Dragons. Davis then participated in training camps and preseasons with the Tennessee Titans in 2002 and Washington Redskins in 2003 before retiring due to injury.
In 2012, Davis came out publicly speaking about what it was like to be closeted and gay in the NFL.
Davis is currently executive director for the You Can Play Project, an advocacy organization working to eradicate homophobia in professional sports. He formerly worked at the Hetrick-Martin Institute in New York City, New York, as the Assistant Director of Job Readiness, where he helped at-promise LGBT youth learn life skills. His writings and interviews have appeared in The Huffington Post, The New York Times and Outsports.
