Up here in blue-ish Massachusetts, we're comfortable with compassion and empathy as American traits. Our governor, Deval Patrick, is one of the few saying to treat the influx of Central and South American kids as refugees.
We find it shocking that so many Americans are xenophobic and isolationist. So many want to pull up the immigrant ladder now they, their parents and grandparents have gotten the embrace of the nation.
We'll consider the humanitarian aspects, the economics and of course the politics.

The mission of Pan Africa Children Advocacy Watch (PACAW), Inc. is to nurture and develop a different generation of African leaders through the vehicle of ACCESS to a NEW EDUCATION CULTURE AT THE BASIC LEVEL. A type of education that will focus on turning the gaze of the children away from avarice, extortion, selfishness, the vain, and obsession with accumulation of material wealth, and prepare them for leadership that embraces living for a higher purpose.
PACAW will empower these children and young men and women, through education, to subjugate their personal and tribal interests to the interest and well - being of their nations. PACAW is focusing in particular on the education of students in the primary and secondary schools in the neglected and underserved communities in Sub-Sahara Africa. The parents and the local community, including the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), play a central role in charting the course of the future of the children in accordance with their aspirations, and also in the implementation of the objectives of PACAW, Inc. There is strict monitoring and accountability by the PTA, school officials and PACAW, Inc.
The goal is to have a critical mass of a new and different generation of African leaders who will champion de facto development of Africa by Africans. Our hope is that these " NEW " African nations will become productive contributors to the well-being of the human family of nations, and partners with the other developed nations rather than dependents drowning in a culture of chronic beggarliness. PACAW, Inc. believes that intelligence, capability, courage and good character are spread handsomely by OUR CREATOR across all segments of the human race. Thus, with the right type of education, and persistent help from altruistic and visionary mentors, the new leadership in Africa would be able to overcome the Continent's monumental problems.

David L. Levy (b. 1936) is a children's rights activist, per the National Partnership for Community Leadership (NPCL) in presenting Levy with the 2011 Charles Ballard Advocacy Award at NPCL's conference in Washington, D.C. In 1985, Levy co-founded The Children's Rights Council in 1992. Levy has authored four books, all on different topics, fiction and non-fiction. Levy is co-director of the Children's Rights Fund for Maryland, an organization advocating joint custody (shared parenting) for children of separation, divorce, and never-married parents. The Fund also provides low cost attorneys for parents in need affected by custody and access (visitation) issues. Levy was appointed by MD Governor Martin O'Malley to the Child Custody Decision-Making Commission in the Fall of 2013. The Commission has held hearings around the state, and is now working on legislative proposals to be presented to the 2015 Maryland legislature. Levy also provides supervised visitations in the Washington, D.C. area and consults on custody related topics in the U.S. and abroad. He also provides job shadowing to help prepare young people for careers and jobs.
Levy attended the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and University of Florida Law School from which he received his juris doctorate. Levy directed the Board of Trustees to strengthen families and reduce the trauma of divorce to children through supporting legislation and programs which favor Shared Parenting (joint custody) mediation, liberal access/parenting time, and emotional and financial child support. Levy states that there are millions of parents who want to be involved (in their children's lives), but the road is blocked. A noted author, Mr. Levy has written a myriad of articles on the subject of child custody and divorce mediation which have been published in prominent legal journals as well as noted in general interest publications.

He now has the "Adult" status. Turning 18 - What does it Mean? When your child turns 18, he will legally become an adult in the eyes of the law. This marks an important transition in your child's life and presents some parenting challenges that are different that when your child was growing up. Legal adulthood for your child does not mean that your job as a parent is over, but turning 18 does mark a new phase in your relationship with your child. Read more : http://www.ehow.com/info The fact that your child is now an adult in the eyes of the law does not mean that she no longer needs parental guidance. The late teen years are a time when teens must make decisions about who they want to be as adults.
Becoming an adult is a process that is taking longer and longer, and most parents find that they still play the role of parent well into their child's 20s. Continue to provide emotional support and guidance to your child for the next several years. Child psychologist Richard Weissbourd has argued that a strong and close relationship with a parent can help children navigate the transition into adulthood and full independence.

When you know your purpose for living, others will get behind you and support you. Sadly, to their own detriment, most men do not know their God-given purpose. They go through life, searching for their reason for existence, but never finding it.
