The Metal Hammer of Doom - Celtic Frost - "Cold Lake"

    in Music

You're nice and full, just had dinner, maybe even seconds, topped it off with a little dessert and ready to slip into that tryptophan coma, when SUDDENLY there's a forceful pounding at the door. Who could that be at this late hour. All the guests have gone, don't they know its the holidays? And where is that loud music coming from? You reach for the door when its kicked open!

Standing there with evil grins are Robert Cooper and Jesse Starcher... THE THANKSGIVING METAL HAMMER OF DOOM CREW! But what is it they have on that plate they are holding? Another TURKEY?!? But not just any turkey. This is a very very bad turkey in the form of an album by Celtic

    Frost called “Cold Lake.”

Pan-African Journal: Special Worldwide Radio Broadcast

    in Politics

Listen to this special edition of the Pan-African Journal hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our regular PANW reports with dispatches on the historical ties between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Zimbabwe; leading politicians in the Federal Republic of Nigeria have given newly-elected President Muhammadu Buhari an ultimatum to resolve the fuel shortage within two weeks; anti-racist activists in Chicago have threatened to shutdown "Black Friday" shopping in the Loop in response to the failure of the mayor to fire the police chief after stalling the release of a video showing the blatant killing of an African American youth; and Minneapolis protests are continuing in the aftermath of the cop killing of Jamar Clark. In the second hour we pay tribute to Cynthia Robinson, the legendary trumpeter and co-founder of the classic Rock and R&B band Sly and the Family Stone who passed away earlier this week at the age of 69. We will also feature a rare archival interview with the immortal Langston Hughes from 1963 where he discusses his work schedules and race relations in the United States. Finally in the last hour we honor the 73rd birthday of Jimi Hendrix who revolutionized guitar playing and popular music during the 1960s. Hendrix died under mysterious circumstances on September 18, 1970 in London.

The biography of rock ‘n roll icon Tom Petty, a great mystery from the “Queen of Crime" Patricia Cornwell, and the story of the Wild Weasels, the band of maverick aviators who flew the most dangerous missions of the Vietnam War are the subjects of The Halli Casser-Jayne Show  Wednesday, November 25, 3 pm ET.

Author and musician Warren Zanes was a member of the Del Fuegos from 1983 to 1989 His writing has appeared in the Oxford American, the Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, the Cleveland Plan Dealer and more. A former vice president of education and programs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum he is currently the executive director of Steven Van Zandt’s Rock and Roll Forever Foundation. Add to his accomplishments the publication of a brand new book PETTY: THE BIOGRAPHY, a remarkable look at the life of the lead singer and guitar player of the iconic rock band Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.

Twenty-five years since her first book, POSTMORTEM was rejected by numerous publishers because no one wanted to read about a “woman who cuts people open,” 29 New York Times Bestsellers later, Patricia Cornwell is back with a new captivating Scarpetta thriller DEPRAVED HEART.

A frequent guest analyst on CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC, Ret. U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Dan Hampton is a bestselling author. He discusses his latest book THE HUNTER KILLERS, which recounts the extraordinary story of the first Wild Weasels, the band of maverick aviators who flew the most dangerous missions of the Vietnam War, and terrorism.

The Night Time Fiasco Welcomes Veronica "The V" Freeman!

    in Rock Music

Without question, one of the hardest working women in today's music business is Veronica Freeman, whose intoxicatingly powerful vocal abilities continue to be a staple of excellence within the industry. "The V" as she is known by both friends and fans has a success story that few ever attain and most only dream about.

2015 marks another landmark chapter in The V's career: not only has she recently been given the opportunity to share the stage with veteran rockers The Rods as a guest vocalist for their European spring tour, but she has released her debut solo effort, Now or Never, in July of 2015 via Frontiers Records to outstanding reviews.

The album shows a side of The V that we've yet to experience as she has chosen to somewhat distance herself from the Heavy Metal styling's she is most known for and offer up a more Melodic Hard Rock approach. A plethora of guest musicians, vocalists and producers appear on the new CD including everyone from Michael Sweet to Leather Leone!

The future continues to look bright for The V as she will make her film debut later this year in the independent release Bite School and will also begin filming for a second movie in Europe titled Devil's Five, a cyber horror feature where she will play Vala Schneider the wife of Ansell Schneider portrayed by Primal Fear frontman Ralf Scheepers.

Overflowing with charisma, enduring long grueling hours in an effort to push herself to the point of breaking she maintains a dominance over every ambition she aspires to, in essence taking control of her own destiny.

This is ...The V, and we are honored to have her on our show! V. stopped by for a few minutes last year during our show with Leather Leone, but this is her first interview segment with us and we are glad to have her with us! Be sure to tune in!!!
