Christians around the globe will begin their annual celebration of Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, commemorating what they consider to be the greatest event in human history. The basis for the world’s largest religion is the belief that, in Jerusalem around a.d. 33, an itinerant Jewish rabbi died as a result of crucifixion and after three days rose from the dead, fulfilling his own and numerous other ancient Messianic prophecies found in the Hebrew Bible, or Old Testament. Sounding too much like science fiction, this tale is easily dismissed by non-believers. However, millions of Christians firmly believe that material scientific proof of the Christ’s resurrection actually exists today, and that evidence is called the Shroud of Turin.

Paris Is Burning
PARIS — Explosions, smoke and automatic gunfire erupted Friday at the site of a hostage-standoff north of Paris where heavily armed police had cornered two suspects in the terror attacks on a satirical newspaper.
It was not immediately clear whether a full-scale police assault was underway, but it coincided with a police report that a gunman at a second standoff, at a supermarket in Paris, was threatening to kill as many as five hostages if police stormed the two brothers holed up in the village of Dammartin-en-Goele.

The only thing known for certain about the 1960s Girl Group known as The Ribbons (Arthetta Givan, Lovie Kinchion, Evelyn Doty and Vessie Simmons) is that they had one nationally charting single in February 1963 and that was the # 81 Billboard Pop Hot 100 Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya, written by James Marcus Smith (better known as P.J. Proby), and which was produced by Marshall Lieb and distributed on the tiny Los Angeles-based Marsh M-202 b/w My Baby Said.
