Join me, your host, GoodGuides Program Director, Darrell L. Feagin, along with our show co-host, Tamara Howard, in this exclusive live radio broadcast titled, "From Gangs to Goodwill: Mentoring Makes a Difference.
Today's guest is a former gang member, "Silas" who will share his story about gang life and the choices he made in order to change his life for the good. He talks about how embracing positive values provided him with resources for personal change, as well as, a way to guide him from the path that his previous choices had led him on.
He encourages our youth, and the listening audience, to challenge themselves to choose those values you have the most difficulty with and attack it; work at it one day at a time, every day, every hour and every minute and you'll succeed at being a better you.
Call in, listen, learn, ask questions and make comments. And Always, Always Remember there is Goodwill in Each of Us!
Hosts Ric Serritella and Joe Everett preview the skill position prospects from the 2015 NFL Draft Class and discuss which players should be on your fantasy football. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @NFLDraftBible for all the latest news, mock drafts and updates!

As a mentoring show I try to bring attention to what a great need there is for black people to share our experiences with each other, as being a perhaps, a first step or next step towards loving and caring about each other in an unprecedented manner. For without love for each other, genuine love from the heart born of struggles and strifes, we flaunder terribly: very badly or unpleasantly. Although our intentions are honorable and heartfelt, does the white racism supremacist plan somehow filter in to disrupt our goals? Maybe via our subconscious, so that our messages to each other are only half successful? And the other half that is left is our multifaceted anger towards each other that lingers? Have we not seen the video clips, sound bites of our people going at each other in a fashion that would make the white racist supremist proud of their handy work? And in the end we are left with what we started with, their plan to divide and conquer, as we’ve seen them do through our history. Shame on us for not being smarter, more intelligent when it comes to our communications with each other. No need to be concerned about infiltrators, right? We can easily do the work for them! All too often we do. So, with that in mind, let us try harder to have a collective mentoring experience, check egos at the threshold or portal, place on the table what you WILL and see who partakes. If you heard my theme song: Brown Baby and listen the words, it will be our own brown and black babies slipping through the cracks of the adults inability to insightfully relate to each other,so the babies will drink from the plenty cup! FYI, that cups is filled with more than just the materialism of a corrupt capitalistic society or world they/we live in...the ancestors are watching us, they know, we know, so lets do what we know, we can't lose that way, remember, what WE know!

Vicki Wright, founder and executive director of Transitions Mentoring Ministry is our guest today. Growing up on a farm with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and sports, she found herself majoring in physical education which led to a Masters degree in physical education with an emphasis in administration. After graduating, she became a high school teacher coaching gymnastics, cheerleading, and volley ball.
After teaching school, Vicki became the President and owner of Tumble Tots, Inc., a mobile pre-school gymnastics program. Continuing with her passion for the sport of gymnastics, Vicki also coached at Ball State University, North Central High School, Miss Juanita’s Apple Juice Kids Child Care, Jireh Sports Urban Minstry, and Charles A. Tindley Accelerated High School.
Many participants in the Transitions Mentoring program were coached by Vicki as young gymnasts. One of Transitions' success "secrets" is that it employs the combination of discipleship tools and mentor-mentee accountability. With a passion for serving the Lord mixed with a passion for serving young people, watching them sprout and grow, Transitions Ministry is the perfect platform for all of this and more to happen.
Invite someone you know, a young adult or even someone older, to join you and listen in. Vicki will be taking calls with questions and comments at (646) 716-8344.
