Hear Mental Health Expert, Joan Landes, share her perspectives on the Common Core and how it is affecting children. Also get a glimpse on the Comprehensive Counseling Guidance that Alabama State Superintendent Tommy Bice has proposed. Schools are now going to have new goals of not just educating children but affecting their attitudes, values and beliefs. The roles of parents are being taken over by the nanny state mentality of this administration. Can America afford to let God-given rights be taken away. Whose children are these? Why is Common Core not using the facts and science we have now on helping the children. Hear our musings over these issues and share.

From ADHD to Bipolar, depression and dissociation disorders, lots of people have them, the justice system doesn't know how to treat them or the how to handle the people with them.
Tonight we discuss the growing problem of mental health in the justice system.
Joining me tonight is @Firec0re to discuss the problems.
Join us as we attempt to shed some light on the issue.
What is Dissociation?
Dissociation is a mental process that causes a lack of connection in a person’s thoughts, memory and sense of identity. Dissociation seems to fall on a continuum of severity. Mild dissociation would be like daydreaming, getting “lost” in a book, or when you are driving down a familiar stretch of road and realize that you do not remember the last several miles. A severe and more chronic form of dissociation is seen in the disorder Dissociative Identity Disorder, once called Multiple Personality Disorder, and other Dissociative Disorders.
Constant sadness, almost every day
This feeling of sadness can occur for no apparent reason (such as a serious event). It can be intense and feel like there is nothing that will make it go away.
Feeling of worthlessness, of excessive or inappropriate guilt
A depressed person often experiences negative and unrealistic feelings of guilt.
Dark or suicidal thoughts
These ideas can occur frequently during depression. They must be taken very seriously and the person must ask for help right away if they are experiencing such emotions.
Loss of interest or pleasure in favourite activities
This loss of interest may affect all areas of life: from previous hobbies (going to movies, reading, shopping…) to everyday activities the person used to enjoy (cooking, doing odd jobs, playing with the children…)

Hear interview with Dr. Duke Pesta as he opens our eyes to some very important details in this nationalized education system that is being implemented. He is a nationally renowned speaker that can connect the dots for us on how the National Sexuality Education Standards will come in to the schools. We will be speaking with him and other Education Activists such as Alice Linahan of Women on the Wall, Ann Eubank of Stop Common Core Alabama will be dropping in to give more perspectives. One of the topics we will comment is on the latest tentacle of this nationalized system--the Comprehensive Counseling Guidance Proposal which uses the ASCA National Model. According to Linda Murphy, a nationally renowned Educator/Activist, who has studied Dr. Bice's Comprehensive Counseling Guidance -- "This is a dangerous expansion of the authority of public schools into the private lives of students, which has never been allowed in American schools. This plan sets goals for changes in students’ emotions, feelings, attitudes, values and beliefs. The area educators call the "affective domain" (from Blooms Taxonomy)."
