May 25, 2015...every day on the last Monday in May, U.S. citizens observe MEMORIAL DAY, a holiday which honors all those who have died in military service to our country. Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day began as a wy to commemorate soldiers who died in the Civil War in service to the Union Army. It became Memorial Day after the first World War.
Just how Memorial Day began is not known for certain, but many believe it started in Charleston in 1865 when thousands of freed slaves and Union Officers gathered at a race track to celebrate the Civil War Victory and honor those who gave their lives for the Union Cause.
Government plus others fly the flag...etc.

The last Monday in May is Memorial Day and to many it marks the beginning of summer. It features parades, BBQs and other activities that cause many to forget the purpose of the day.
Memorial Day, originally Decoration Day, began during the Civil War with the decoration of the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the conflict. In the subsequent 150-plus years, the day has been expanded to include all of our wars and conflicts.
Let us not forget that Memorial Day is the day where we all pause and remember the brave men and women who put on the uniform of our armed forces, who put themselves in harms way so that we could sleep safely in our homes at night, and who died in the service of our nation.
On Monday, May 25, please take a minute out of your day to remember all of the fallen soldiers who paid a price that we can never fully repay.
Happy Memorial Day to all of you out there. Stay safe. Be blessed and you have my prayers and best wishes. This is a time of reflection. So many memories and accomplishments. Graduations. School year closing. Family gatherings and many more. Thank God for his love and mercy throughout. Church doors are open and for those who chose to make God your chose on this day what a memory that will be. Hazel will be celebrating her one hundred and fifth birthday and what a prime example of God in her life. Still strong, actively going and strong in the Lord. PACC church burnt their morgage.
