Holiday Stress Busters with Melanie Foote-Davis

    in Fashion

SPECIAL HOLIDAY EDITION:  Whether you love the Holiday Season or dread it, it tends to be filled with lots of extra 'hustle and bustle', spending time with family, gift giving (Which includes, who wants what? And can I really afford this?) and it's a time that's notorious for more people experiencing depression.  So how do you make it through this 'wonderful time of the year' with your sanity in tact?  I've invited my friend, Melanie Foote-Davis, who is a Life Coach, Women's Advocate and 'Self-Love' promoter, to join us and share her perspective.  In addition to her current profession, she was the former Salon Manager and Hair Designer for Fabulous Finishes Salon and Day Spa and she comes from a very large family and has lots of experience and tips for navigating the holidays with lots of love and without breaking the bank.  Take a moment to listen (and laugh) with me and Melanie and prepare for your mind and spirit to be renewed!

    in Lifestyle

Join Suzanne as she talks about WALKING A WELLNESS LIFESTYLE with Melanie St. Ours.

Melanie is a clinical herbalist specializing in women's health and mental health. She lives in Washington D.C. with her parrot, her partner, and her rescued pit bull, but she works with clients from all over the world. You can learn more about her work and find free resources to support your own healing process at her home on the web, psycheandsoma.com, through her weekly Creative Wellness Podcast or on facebook.

Some questions we held as the container for our conversation:

How can we begin to walk a wellness path when maybe feeling out of our depths, overwhelmed or unable to commit to major life changes?
Are there pitfalls to be aware of when committing to a life of natural, healthy choices?
How does wellness relate to all aspects of our life, beyond just physical health?

Rob Peabody & Melanie M. Jeschke

    in Books

Rob Peabody serves as the co-founder and director of Awaken, a non-profit charity that exists to resource the church for action. In 2011, Rob, along with his wife, Medea, and their two boys, left his position as lead campus pastor of a megachurch in Texas to pioneer and lead fresh expressions of church seeking to engage unreached 20’s & 30’s in northeast London.

This work is commissioned by the International Mission Board of the SBC and in partnership with the Church of England. Rob currently serves as a missional consultant for multiple church networks in the UK, is a member of the Speaking Team at Spring Harvest, and is charged with casting vision and leading a new upcoming national UK 18-30’s conference - The Pursuit - taking place May 2015.

Beyond speaking at conferences in the US and UK, Rob has also written a small group film series entitled Kingdom Rise, released March 2013.

Melanie M. Jeschke was born in the North (Pittsburgh, PA) and grew up in the South (Richmond, VA), attending the University of Virginia where she met her husband of thirty years, Bill Jeschke. Together we have nine beautiful children (three daughters and six sons) and have pioneered a non-denominational Christian church called The King's Chapel in Fairfax, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C.
She has had the miraculous adventure of attending a conference on C.S. Lewis at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities which inspired her to begin writing travel articles and eventually my series of historical/romance novels, The Oxford Chronicles.
