    Melanie M. Jeschke & Michelle Trostle !

    in Books

Melanie M. Jeschke starts off the show today @ 12:30PMEST and then Michelle Trostle jumps in @1PMEST!

Here is a little bit about each author:I was born in the North (Pittsburgh, PA) and grew up in the South (Richmond, VA), attending the University of Virginia where I met my husband of thirty years, Bill Jeschke. Together we have nine beautiful children (three daughters and six sons) and have pioneered a non-denominational Christian church called The King's Chapel in Fairfax, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C.
I have loved reading, creating stories, and writing since I was a young girl, and was told that my name "Melanie" was a form of the Greek word for "ink"--- a name I hoped would be prophetic. Although I majored in English and taught high school before having our family, I put writing on the back burner of our busy lives for many years. When my youngest son was old enough for our home-school kindergarten, I had the miraculous adventure of attending a conference on C.S. Lewis at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities which inspired me to begin writing travel articles and eventually my series of historical/romance novels, The Oxford Chronicles.
Since then I have returned to the UK numerous times for conferences, research, and even as a tour guide and leader. I was thrilled when budget travel guru Rick Steves asked me to contribute a chapter on Oxford to his new "England 2006" guide book.

Michelle L. Trostle is a certified reading specialist, teacher, and school administrator with a Masters of Education degree in Reading and Language Arts. Michelle has thirteen years of experience in public education working with students and teachers from kindergarten through grade twelve. She is especially passionate about fostering a love of reading in the hearts of her students. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Melanie M. Jeschke, "Evasions- The Oxford Chronicles"

    in Books

    A love story spanning generations,

from Scotland’s wild Highlands to Oxford’s welcoming arms

From the Scottish links of St. Andrews to the bombing blitz of London, RAF pilot Eric MacKenzie experiences a dark journey of the soul as he battles the Nazis and personal loss and bitterness. Evading the air raids and her own distressing circumstances, Annie finds refuge and renewed faith at the Kilns, home of Oxford don C.S. Lewis. Eric and Annie reveal their turbulent love story decades later when their daughter Natalie and Lord Stuart Devereux seek wisdom for their own future.

Unforeseen tragedy, unplanned pregnancy, and undermined faith lead to hope, commitment, and restoration in this compelling prequel to Inklings, Intentions, and Expectations, that will captivate romance readers, history buffs, and Lewis and Tolkien devotees alike.

“Step back in time and enjoy an enriching tale of Oxford, C.S. Lewis, and the characters Melanie Jeschke brings to life. You will feel as if you know them personally.” - Ruth Graham

“Melanie Jeschke's meticulous period research is integrated seamlessly into a gripping and delightful yarn of love, faith, and loss set during the horror and terror of war. Playing a small but important part in the central story, C.S. Lewis and his immediate circle in Oxford come to vivid life.” -Colin Duriez Author of Tolkien and C. S. Lewis: The Gift of Friendship and J.R.R. Tolkien: The Making of a Legend

"A Road Unknown": Elizabeth is at a crossroad. She's been given the chance to experience life outside of her community, away from the responsibility to care for her eight younger siblings, but Elizabeth Bontrager can't decide which road to take. Goshen has its charms and pressures, but Paradise, Pennsylvania, sounds . . . well, like paradise. And it's also home to her Englisch friend, Paula. Decision made. Elizabeth is Paradise bound.

But will the small town live up to its name? When Elizabeth meets Paula's friend, Bruce, she quickly learns he wants more than a friendship. And the same might be true of Saul Miller, her new boss at the country story that sells Amish products to the Englisch community. As the two compete for her attention, Elizabeth is surprised to realize she misses her family and becomes even more uncertain about where she belongs. She has a choice to make: return home or embrace this new life and possibly a new love?

The Change for Success Show w/Mr. Finesse “The Power Series (Perseverance)"

    in Motivation

Setbacks go hand-in-hand in this thing we call life. Unfulfilled dreams, hope, and aspiration abandoned.  All of us have experienced this at one time or another.  I’m sure that some of us have given up, when the road has seemed most difficult to climb.

Many people never achieve success in life, simply put, because we don’t Persevere.  Some of us quit before we realize our dreams.  It’s important to persevere, in many respects, because we don’t get what we want immediately.  Let’s face it:  Whether we’re talking having a successful marriage or to losing weight, we live in a society of instant gratification:  We want it NOW!  If we don’t get it, we tend to move on or leave it behind.
