In 2012, 47 million nonelderly Americans were uninsured. This is not a statistic. This is a crisis.
Join us and our special guest Al Gladyck, in a discussion about the issues of our current healthcare system, the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA), the Expanded & Improved Medicare For All Act (H.R. 676), and the likelihood of single payer Medicare-for-all happening in our lifetime.
About our guest:
Al Gladyck is a retired auto worker, UAW member from Detroit, MI. Al worked for 18 years putting parts on cars, 15 years changing light bulbs and 4 years in between as a computer programmer.
Al’s health care activism came in late 2008 or early 2009, when he ran into an old friend from his Chrysler days. His friend gave him a copy of Medicare For All (HR676) and asked him if he wanted to help get healthcare for everyone:
“I read it. Until then the only thing I knew about healthcare was my insurance card.”
Al lives in Clinton Twp, MI, with his wife, a retired elementary public school teacher.

America can afford Medicare for all
Last week while performing my engineering duties on KPFT’s Thinkwing Radio with Mike Honig, a rather disturbing call came from a caller. The caller was not a bad person. The caller was not ill willed. The caller simply bought into the tenet that the mythical free market can solve all of America and the world’s problems.
I do not mind folks having different ideological beliefs in most segments of our economy. In fact it may even be a great experiment to show what works effectively.
Where these ideologies cause pain, financial distress, or deaths unnecessarily to our fellow human beings, to our fellow Americans, one should not leave it up to some unseen, unknown, or so far failed market.
When the caller implied that morality had no role in the implementation of healthcare, I was left flabbergasted. He seemed to be of the belief that somehow there was some intrinsic benevolence to our mythical free market.
There are grey areas in every debate. However there are areas where there are absolutes. Healthcare is one of the areas with absolutes. Those who want a complete mythical free market answer to healthcare have already been proven wrong. Americans need not have had to go through the past decades of wasteful medical spending and medical robbery. Simple arithmetic had the answer.
There is only one solution that makes mathematical sense. It is Medicare for all.

THE FEEL GOOD GENE...Do you have the 'natural bliss' of a feel good gene?
Most of us on this planet have experienced anxiety. Does anxiety have a psychological trigger, not so, clinicians have long known that there are plently of people who experience anxiety in the absence of any danger or stress and haven't a clue why they feel distressed.
Did you know some people inherently feel less anxious. Why, because recent neuroscience research explains that a genetic variation in the brain make some people more able to forget fearful and unpleasant experiences.
20% of adult americans have this...etc.
They become less likely to become addicted...etc.
We all have this natural bliss gene but some have...etc.
Fact, we're all walking around with...etc.
We need to find a...etc.

Using this monthly plan of action, will allow us to set the tone and be an example of mutual power building. We can Make Black History with 10-10-50 each and every month.
If the 1.5 Million Blackmen who attended the Historic MMM 1995 in D.C., had all saved $50 a month, we would've have realized a tremendous amount of growth, development and progress. In one month, we would save collectively $75 MIL. In one year, we would save $900 MIL. In twenty years, we would save $180 BILLION WOW! The numbers don't lie. Our work must become more mathematical and scientific in its approach and objectives.

Our goal for this podcast is to create discussion and resources for business owners to work together to find best practices and take a proactive approach to making business success.
This week's Topic is #2 in our series: Salesperson first.
If you are not willing to be a salesperson, then nothing else matters. You must be willing to find (prospect) customers/clients, sell and close deals.
Many people are uncomfortable doing these things. An alternative is to find someone who will do the selling for them… not an easy thing to accomplish.
Join our discussion! Let's make a business success!
During Empower Half Hour we'll talk about proactive things each of us can easily do to make our businesses, and -- in general -- every day better. We'll motivate and empower ourselves and each other. The whole idea in this podcast is people helping people and collaboration equals success. We're all in this together!
Empower Half Hour is made possible by the Time to Play Foundation, Inc., a not for profit 501c3 corporation with the mission and purpose to enrich the lives of others through programs, public awareness outreach activities, events and learning opportunities that further the concept of enjoying life.
